I have forgotten my login
Try the default: 1234
If that doesn't work, do a hard reset. http://www.zyxel.co.uk/web/support_faq_detail.php?faqID=17&pid=20060330164958
To perform a factory reset:
1) Power off the router,
2) Hold down the recessed reset button on the rear of the unit (keep it held down)
3) Power on the router with the reset button still pressed down.
4) You will notice all the LAN lights flash at the same time which will indicate that the router has reset - this takes up to 30 seconds.
5) When all the LAN lights do flash simultaneously you can let go of the reset button.
Your router is now reset. The default IP address is "192.168.1.1" and the default password is "1234".
I could access the router log in page and then go
For user access enter the default user password user to view the status only. The
following window will appear.
Administrator Access
1 For administrator access enter the default admin password 1234 to configure the wizards
and the advanced features.
2 Click Login to proceed to a screen asking you to change your password or click Cancel
to revert to the default password.
3 If you entered the admin password, it is highly recommended you change the default
admin password! Enter a new password between 1 and 30 characters, retype it to
confirm and click Apply. Alternatively click Ignore to proceed to the main menu if you
do not want to change the password now.
This router has a user password to see the status and an administrator password to change settings. Please mark this as solved if this solves your problem. If not feel free to ask more questions :).
I need to de_militarised (DMZ) my router for my
1) Type in "192.168.1.1" into the address bar of your browser. The log in page for your browser appears.
2) Enter your password - by default this is "1234", but you might have changed it. If you have changed it before log in with that new one.
A page should load with a lots of boring information. On the left side there should be a panel of stuff, what you want is "advanced settings". If advanced settings IS there on the left go to step "a" below. If advanced settings (or in fact anything) IS NOT down the left proceed to step "b" below.
a) Happy days. All you have to do is click the "+" beside advanced settings to expand it, then select UPnP. Then just click ALL of the boxes (there's 3 of them I think). That's it.
b) You are logged into some sort of stupid mode where you can't change anything. All you can do is refresh the page or log out. This is probably because you entered "1234" as the password, but in fact this password has previously been changed by you or someone else. So go back to the log in screen (192.168.1.1 in the address bar) and put in the one you changed it to, if you can remember it. If you do remember it and log in successfully (successfully being that you can see "advanced settings" on the left), go back to step "a" above. If you still can't get to that page it means you don't know your password. So you're going to have to reset your router. Go to step "c".
c) Resetting your router. Turn the router off. Then hold the reset button for 30 seconds and power on the router at the same time. Now I think you'll have to set up your router again like when you got if first, to connect to the internet, so do it. Then log in to 192.168.1.1 again. This time the password "1234" should bring you to the proper screen with advanced settings. If it does go to step "a". If it doesn't go to step "d".
d) You'll have to default reset your router. Turn it off. Turn it on and hold reset for 15 seconds. Some light will flash. Release button and let it reboot. Now log in to 192.168.1.1 again. If it works and you can select "advanced settings" go to step"a". If you STILL can't see advanced settings you're at the end of the line and I don't know what to do. Contact your provider or something.
If you haven't done this already...on your ps3:
Open up network >> internet connection. Choose wireless/wired - whichever you want. Choose "Address settings" - "custom", "IP address" - choose manual.Enter these:
IP address - "192.168.1.50"
Subnet Mask - "255.255.255.0"
Default Router - "192.168.1.1"
Primary DNS and Secondary DNS same as default router.
Then enter than. Don't know what MTU is (it'll come up next). You're done.
I do not know how
Hi there,
You will need to log into your router first by typing in your Gateway Address into your internet browser. You can locate your Gateway Address by clicking on Start and typing in CMD. When you're in the Command Prompt, type in IPCONFIG, then write down your Gateway Address. This is likely a number that starts with "192".
When you type this into your internet browser it will launch the Control Panel. This SHOULD be the log in information:
Username: (Leave this blank)
Password: 1234
Only you and people connected to your router will have access to this control panel, so there's no harm in spreading it across FixYa. If this doesn't allow you to log in then it's likely the password has been changed, or the manufacturer has changed the default password.
If you changed the password but no longer know it, you will need to press and hold the reset button on the back of your router with a pin. This will reset your internet connection so if you need to resort to this, you will need to set it up again. If the manufacturer has altered the default password, then the correct password should be in your documentation.
Once you have entered your router's control panel, it's as simple as clicking Advanced > UPNP, and enabling it.
If this solution doesn't resolve your problem, please return to this page and I will be happy to assist your further.
Lost password
Hi there,
The default password is usually "admin" for the username or "admin" for the password. Sometimes it can be either both or one or the other. If you can't log into the Control Panel because you lost the password, look on the back of the router. You should see a small pinhole. If you push and hold that for about thirty seconds you can reset the router to factory default settings. This will reset the password to your control panel but it will also reset your internet connection. You will need to reset your internet connection again.
If you're referring to the password (being your WPA2 or WEP Key) that has been forgotten, go into the control panel. Under the security section you should see an option to change the password for your WPA2 or WEP. Change that and you should good to go.

My new laptop keeps losing connection with my
The new laptops are not compatible with some of the older model routers.Try turning the power to the router for approximately 10 minutes, shut down your laptop before turning off the power to the router.once the router has been off for ten minutes, turn your laptop back on,as if you are "logging on",let your laptop be idle for about 20 minutes, giving your router time to "reboot" If this does not fix your problem, you'll have to replace your router with one that is more compatible....
