Either set the printer from its panel to default or the alternate which is not a best solution is to select black and white for print. The setting for this needs to be changed on computer.

Increasing Contrast And Sharpness should make your prints darker

just change the printer option in Windows / linux or mac operating sistem on printer property

Use the CD that came with your unit, or download the programs from the Canon web site. They will prompt you through the install and setup.

check the cartridge carrier...or turn off the printer 5 min. the turning on again

Hi,sorry but you can not...that's why I threw out mine and bought just scanner..alone.....
Cartridges lock all the functions on Canon...this is a tactic for forcing us to buy cartridge..

I think you must have installed with the incorrect language from the insatllation cdrom and all you need to do is run the cd again with the correct language selected.

No all cartridges must be installed and have some ink in them.

I suggest your unplug the printer and then remove the printer and all it's driver from your computer. Restart your computer and reinstall from your original cdrom plugging in your printer only when prompted by the installation programme.
