DeLonghi Esclusivo Magnifica ESAM3300 Espresso Machine Questions & Answers
I have Delonghi ESAM 3300 and grinder runs for
We had excactly the same problem a couple of times recently with a lot of troubleshooting, like adjsusting grinder, reseting the to factory settings, and many more and we end up that it was a problem with pcb control board which lost the preset timing of grinding thus the coffee grinding where about 3-4 sec and the correct one shold be about 8-9 sec. We have here one side which have the
control board for your reference.

Attemps to gind but no beans seem to get through
Machine thinks there are no beans because it is not grinding. Most likely the grinder is blocked. The common causes are a small foreign object, a stale hard bean and moisture (either from water spillage or moist beans). The first thing you should do is vacuum ALL the beans out, set it to the coarsest grind setting and run the grinder a few times ( with no beans). Then put a small amount of fresh beans (make sure they are dry and not from fridge or freezer) in and try again. Give it a few goes. If it still wont grind have a good look down there, if it looks wet let it dry out for a while and try again. If none of thes easy tips help you will have to remove the top grinder burr and clean both burrs. Good luck.

Grounds container indicator light stays on
I have the same problem as this after cleaning. The machine won't power on. It does a power on self test and then the grounds tray full or missing light comes on and nothing else can be done.
A friend of mine with a similar machine says hers fixed itself after a while so assume some sensor got jammed/obscured with my over zealous cleaning. However I'm not hopeful. Might try taking it apart.

Defuser unit stuck at bottom
Recycling the power resets the position of the defuser. When you turn it off, make sure you do it via the button on the front before swutching it off at the power point.

I'm getting the
Not good; from page 21 of the owner's manual: If the message is still displayed after cleaning, contact the service center.
The good news is that when I had to send in my ESAM3500 for warranty repair, I called DeLonghi (1-866-528-8323) and got through to their repair center without difficulty. They sent a new shipping box and wrapping material, and a prepaid shipping label to a repair center about 100 miles away. I got my repair ESAM back in just a week. I hope that your experience goes as well. If it's out of warranty, though, it could be expensive.

My delight magnifica is now
I had this same problem and discussed it with DeLonghi customer service. My machine was grinding 20 seconds for a double shot and ground coffee was coming out of the top and spilling over inside what a mess!
DeLonghi thought it was potentially a problem with the control board - grinding time too long - which is an expensive repair. I also called the local factory-authorized service and described the same problem. They asked what kind of beans I was using and I answered Starbucks espresso. They said that Starbucks is too oily, clogs the machine, and that I should try beans that are lighter. I also checked with an engineer who used to work at Starbucks and he made the same guess.
I tried an Italian roast espresso from a local market and it worked! I've had no problems since. The new beans cleaned out the oils and I'm getting great shots.
This is a good machine, but is best making single shots.

Delonghi Magnifica Makes creaking noise when preparing brew unit
These machines do need to be lubricated every so often. First, buy some food safe lubricant, e.g.
here. Then, turn the machine off, open the front door, and remove the infuser. There is a holder connected to the machine by two hex screws. You may remove this (or even just leave it on). Now attach a long tube to the lubricant (should come with the can) and spray lubricant on both sides of the vertical screw that moves the infuser up and down. Give it a few good sprays on both sides of the screw, up and down, and that should solve your problem.

Delonghi EAM 3400 keeps saying "Empty Grounds Container"
I think the microswitch that sensors the front door is not activated. Try to find it and "give it a massage" The machine resets the counter for the grounds container every time the door switch is activated.

Delonghi Magnifica Rapid Capucinno Power
It's quite likely your unit had a blown thermal fuse caused by a bad thermostat. Test them by disconnecting one end and a meter should show continuity if the part is good. The pro's test them in circuit while the unit is plugged in, power showing across the part means it is bad. REPLACE BOTH PARTS TOGETHER.

Can't remove infuser to clean it
Turning off the power with the button is not enough. Instead, to remove the infuser: unplug the machine, wait a few seconds, plug it in again and turn the machine on. Even though you are technically turning it on, the machine will sense it was not turned off in an ok way, so it will "properly" shut off (and unlock the infuser).
