Camera turns on to white screen only. Lense

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

It could be that your computer does not have the correct codec to play this format. If you download VLCLan software (free) you may be able to see the images as well.

Battery Dont Charge

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.

How to correct the date on picture?

Once the photo has been stamped with the date, the date is just more pixels, just like any faces or flowers or anything else in the photo. You can use a photo editing program to change it, paint over it, or blend it into the background, but you can't recover exactly what was there originally.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

My casio exilim got virus and im unable to see my files. And it only contains of virus files that cant open. what can i do to solve this kind of problem?

All digital cameras I've ever seen do not run unsigned code (or any code for that matter) so it's very highly unlikely (or impossible) that your camera has a virus. It's probably just broken. Put a different memory card into your camera and take a picture. If it doesn't work normally then your camera is likely broken. If it works normally then your original memory card is corrupt. If that's the case use a memory card reader (sold at Staples/Amazon/CVS) and try a program like Card Recovery, Digital Picture Recovery, or ZAR. You can usually get everything back if you didn't already overwrite everything by trying to take a bunch of pictures on a corrupt card. If the camera itself is broken, just buy a memory card reader and get the pictures off through a computer or you can just go to a photo kiosk at any pharmacy. If you want to fix the camera, buy the parts online or buy that identical used camera from eBay in an As-is auction for next to nothing and swap parts with your own. Personally, I would just buy a new camera though. They're cheap.

When i use the camera it shows the is card lock and in camera there is no security option

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My Casio Exilim Z77 fell

Sounds like a ribbon cable from the CCD (Lens assembly) got knocked loose from the board. If you're handy I'd give it a shot, look for a small gold colored thin ribbon like cable, there should be a few, check the connections at both ends and reassemble.

The 7.2 megapixle Exillim is over 4 years old so your warranty has to be over anyway, you have nothing to loose.
You can get a much better camera for under $100 these days.

I need a drive to transfer photos on computer from

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Casio Exilim lens error

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

When I put my battery

Check the position of the batteries. Some camera require the batteries to put in (+)(+) positive-positive position if we see from above. Some other require the batteries to put in (+)(-) or (-)(+) or (-)(-).
Make sure you have put in the batteries in the right place.
Sometimes, unchargeable batteries will stay longer than chargeable batteries, You can try to insert that kind of batteries.

If useful, RATE please.
