Have you made sure that the batteries are LiIon and fully charged? I had a similar problem with a Kodak Easyshare camera that required the higher voltage LiIon battery pack rather than alkaline AAs which will fit in there but is not exactly right.

If the deleted pictures were on a memory card and you haven't done anything with the card since you deleted them, maybe.
Do a Google search for "data recovery software." Pick a program appropriate for your computer or operating system. Take the card from the camera and put it into a card reader attached to your computer. Cross your fingers and run the program.
How to upload pictures to computer
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa (

Even with new battery if the camera does not trun on then there is fault on the main control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck that seems to switch off the controller..
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and realased. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre as it might be the processor controller section which is the main board that is suspected.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.
