Hi,
If this is a new DVD player that you have connected to your TV,
It can be connected in three different ways using three different cables.
only one type is required
- one way is using a RCA cable, which is a yellow plug on the DVD and TV
- another way is a S video cable, which is round and has multiple pins.
- and the third way is a HDMI cable which is rectangular with multiple pins
Which every one you use, for eg if you use a HDMI cable to connect it up to the TV you will need to select HDMI on your TV via the remote and press TV/AV until you get to HDMI.
Also most DVD players have a menu to set up, which you can select what type of output picture lead you are using, Eg. HDMI or Composite = RCA or S Video.
I have enclosed a picture to determine which lead you are using.
If your TV is HDMI then this will give the best picture quality then S Video then composite RCA.
I hope this helps you
