Hi, I have replaced the power board on my Philips
Hi duarte
I`m going to help you with you tv but first;
Most of the time the power supply is the problem in your set but there are other boards that can cause a Vscan shutdown in the power supply.
There is a large board on the left hand side(from the back) that is called the Ysustain and there is a connector on it with the VS and VA voltages indicated and it comes directly from the power supply.
And on the right hand side there is the Xsustain with the same connectors.
I`d like you to pull them out one a time and try to start the set in between.
See if that makes a difference.

No picture and red flashing
Check your inputs. If no signal then contact the people who sold it to you. They may send you to the manufacturer for a repair/replacement.

I have the problem philips
Are you saying the tv does not come on when you press the power button as it should? If that is the case - the philips tvs have a known issue with power supplies and if you have experience with electronics I'd say open it up and check the power supply for bad capacitors (bulged/leaking or busted caps) if you have component level experience replace them then try your tv again - ive fixed many philips tvs with this problem.
thanks,
michael

Hello: I have a Philips 42 inch Plasma
Hi, i see all the time these people who think that every fault in a unit, is a capacitor, when it simply is not.
While caps do indeed go "Bad" just replacing them seldom will permanently fix anything. What most miss is that also there is "Other" damage done to "other' even seemingly disconnected componentry.
As said usually we have a fault, the cause, the damage done, and the co-lateral damage ALL must be found and repaired, or the fault will simply reappear, in one form or another.
Accordingly whenever we embark upon a repair the very first place we MUST start, as I tell all my students, is with the Power Supply.
Here we must check ALL voltages, as if they aren't correct here then NOTHING can nor will work correctly anyway.
So to check said supply one simply MUST HAVE a service manual.

No picture on philips model
You will more than likely need your capacitors replaced. That is the most common problem with these.

Step1: Reset power to the TV or DVD or Cable box
go onto step 2 if problem is there
Step2: check all connections
making sure they are all pushed in all the way
go onto step 3 if problem is still there
Step3: Remove one connection at a time and make sure they are going into the right plug
if problem is still there give me more info.
