RCA L26WD26D 26 in. LCD TV Questions & Answers
Black vertical lines on flat screen
All plasma an lcd tvs have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times reseating the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They can sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, and the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em. Good luck.
Why does my rca tv powers down and up continously
Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
If main board is faulty, this kind of symptom occur too.
RCA LCD TV 26 screen turns white, no sound no nothing
You have a blown fuse in the power supply. It does not look like a fuse.
It is near the top of the board and is labeled as 1.6 amp. It supplies 12
volts to the main board (via q422). A 2 amp fuse should be a fine
replacement.
42" LCD tv shows picture on only half of the screen, other half dark!
The T-Con board (otherwise known as LVDS) connects to two seperste parts of the LCD panel. If you do have half a picture (left or right) replacing the T-Con board should resolve this issue. Open your TV, find the part number and search on eBay or at sites like www.flattvparts.co.uk where you can search by TV model number.
I need the code to
I had exactly the same issue, and after a week of searching the web for the answer to this question. I posted a pdf of the page from the service manual that helped me fix the issue here:
http://www.highdefjunkies.com/showthread.php/1817-The-Official-quot-Service-Menu-Access-Codes-Request-Thread-quot?p=353717#post353717 To fix mine, all i did was turn the volume on the tv to zero, then on the tv set itself, hold down the volume down button and on the remote control hold the number 4 button down both at the same time for 2 seconds. The screen will say "initialization of factory dvd data." and my dvd player started playing my dvd's no problem. I wasn't able to set the region code to a specific number like some people need, but maybe the answer to that question is some where else in the manual I posted above. I've spent too much time on this already :-D Hope this was a help and good luck!
A reset switch?
Wait until the power comes back on? Plug the TV back in? The obvious solutions are usually the best.
I have the RCA model L26WD26D. There are colored
More often then not a decoder board would be your issue here. the decoder board or AKA tuner/decoder puts the signals on your lcd display. When they give up on doing that you get these nice stripes on your lcd display. Now if it where the screen itself you would have "dead pixels" or stuck pixels , witch is not the case here.
What you need to do is ether bring it to a TV repair shop or try and get the part and do it yourself. What we are talking here is do it yourself. If you not into that then your going to need a repair shop its going to cost about 2 3rds or more of what the tv is worth to fix, So this is where you might want to consider your options.

Screen lights up sound OK,
Mainboard (AKA tuner board) is the issue. It was lost with the DVD input plugged into the mainboard. IF this happens again, I would recommend unplugging the internal DVD and go with an external option. These combo tvs are confused because of the extra processing power needed for an internal combo player.
Thank you!
