The sound PCB is not separate it is part of a larger board. I do not suggest the cost as it may not fix the problem. Just replace the TV.

Just try a reset to this set, and check. If it do not help you, the main system control memory IC is faulty. Check and replace it. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.

Dynex DX-LCD37... | Answered on Aug 11, 2015 | 174 views

If there is no power LED lights up at its front panel, it indicates that the main power supply regulator board inside the TV has the fault. It do not works at all, or it do not get the AC mains power into it to work.
If the power LED at its front panel is lit, and the set do not power up by pressing the power button at the remote control; it is the symptom of a faulty main board.
Fault to the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

That "Tech" is full of hot air, I have never heard of such rubbish! http://www.hdtvreview.com/pdf/dynex-dx-lcd37-09-02-manual.pdf
Above is your manual. have a look for your self. Now IF you can do Picture in Picture, then technically, there are TWO tuners, BUT one cannot work, and the other not, I do NOT know what that Tech is on about I suspect he is BSing you... If channels are Blocked, then it is maybe something wrong with the cable, or the strength of the signal, or something else, But there are NO "Tuners" that are going faulty, this is NOT how a TV receiver works.

Does this Dynex model have multiple tuners: NO If so, can they go bad : Yes, as could any electronic bit. maybe the ONLY tuner has faulted, but I don't think so. Tuners usually work, or don't. but still may pay to take to a professional and ask them to check the tuner?
Are the tuners replaceable: YES.
will the rest of the tuners eventually go out and I will end up replacing the TV:. NO, well depending if there is any fault, maybe.
Again I have never heard such BS, EVER.

If the TV shuts off by itself, there should be some short circuit inside the circuit board. You have to troubleshoot it. If you visit this link,http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ you will get some more details about how to troubleshoot main digital boards. It is very difficult to get pictures from this link, and to copy them here with descriptions, as this window does not allow me to do so. If you wish to know more, check this link.

Found the problem -Emerson TV has only one circuit audio outlet and that
is being used with my HD Box - I have now spliced the red and white
connections from the Hd Box connection to TV - plugged
the spliced red and white connection into the red and white plugs and
its a done deal. Everything works just fine,

Being that it is a Dynex, an off brand, i would toss the TV on craigslist and if you get $40 for it take the money and run. The general rule of thumb is that if you can repair the TV for less than half of the cost of a new set, you repair. If the repair cost is more than half of the cost a new set, you replace. But you also have to factor in the age of the set, brand, and whether or not it has sentimental value.

IF you did not have the proper surge protector for your television it is very possible that it was damaged by the storm.

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

if contrast etc not set incorrectly it may be a issue on the main board which processes all signal inside the set===a 37 inch might cost you more to fix than to replace.
