When the power is turned

Had a very similar problem with mine - not sure if this will help or not, but it seems to be doing the trick (channels scanning as I type).
I unplugged the tv for about an hour. I unplugged the cable, and all the components. Then I turned the tv on, and was able to get to the menu screen. Previously, I couldn't change channels or even power off from the buttons on the side of the unit either...
Once there, I plugged the coaxial cable directly into the side of the set, then ran the auto-scan.
I know it's not a techincal answer, and a bit strange, but as I mentioned, it seems to be working for my issue.

Good luck!

Volume on the tv

You must first determine if the audio in the television set is still working. You will need to connect the television audio output to a stereo input. Then try using the volume control and see if the circuit responds normally. If the circuit responds normally , you have a problem with the television speakers. They can can be serviced or replaced. If the circuit does not respond normally you have a much more serious problem in the audio circuits. This is usually found on the main controller board. The probelm could be with cold solder joins, component failure, or a bad audio processor ic. These problems will have to be serviced by a service center. They will have all the correct service information to test the television and repair it. You can call Dynex customer support at this telephone number 1-800-305-2204 between the hours of 7am-12am CST. Give them the model number of your television and tell them about the problem with a loss of audio. They will be able to tell you how you can get the television tested and repaired. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

How can I configure the picture to match screen

There is a # button (hd zoom) on your Comcast remote that will adjust the picture size. Also make sure you are set to the proper resolution on the Comcast receiver (720p) and that the Dynex television is set to the proper input for high definition.

Do i need to use HDMI wire if i have a cable box ?

It depens on what the cable box outputs are, you need to see if it has RF Coaxial jack (use CH3 or CH 4 on the TV), composite video out (Yellow RCA jack) with red and white RCA for audio, component video outputs (Red, Green, and Blue RCA jacks), or HDMI output jacks. HDMI and component video are for HI-DEF if you subscribe to the HI-def package. The cable company should provide you with the owner manual. Please post back with more info.

How to mount on wall

first you neeed to buy a wall mount kit for your size tv, menards or lowes is cheaper than best buy. you can also purchase a box for behind the tv that has a cable and power supply, it mounts in the wall so you see any wires. you must take the tv base off, normally 4 screws and make sure you have studs where you would like to mount the tv

if it looks like a spider web on the screen, yes but the repair cost will be more than buying a new tv.. sorry any damage to the screen on a plasma or lcd normally costs more than the tv. you can however try to sell it for parts, such as power supply etc and also the remote

I have a dynex dx-l37-10a

What voltgae reading are you getting at the output terminals as shown in the picture? To go furhter, we need to konw what you are getting out of the power supply: http://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/s/j/sjadtv72425qa1.jpg

If nothing light up in the front, then the standby 5vdc is not working, this is a must have voltage to get the TV start.

I have a Dynex DX-LCD37. It lost sound

You have a bad audio output ic. The ic in this set is very difficult to change, so most techs will change the entire digital board. If you can find a digital board for it, that would be the easiest solution, and can be done easily yourself. You can try ebay or shopjimmy.com to try and locate one.

It can either be the T-CON board or the main board, or LCD panel itself problem, you will need the scope to look at the signals feeding the T-CON board and the output of the T-CON board to narrow downth problem.

My volume went out and yes I checked the

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find.
