Check backlight (cold cathode) if busted. Check also for deffective ballast as this have direct effect on the stability of image in the screen. Replace it. These two are the main cause for having black screen.

Change the little panel with buttons on the side - you'll likely find it on eBay.

You need to check your antenna and see if you are actually getting a signal, also hook something up to the External inputs and see if it actually can display a picture? So, it is nearly always my professional opinion that one should always get a "Quote" from the manufacturers recommended service center, I cannot stress how important that last point is. It is even worth the cost of shipping. you see an authorised service agent, will have trained staff, trained on their brand, also they have first hand access to parts, original parts. This will actually save you money and ensure you can actually get it back fixed. Of course asking for a "Quote" also gives on the option of repair or replace. Often my clients,do not go through with repair, unless it is moderate, but in some of the more costly jobs they see it, as do i, that a replacement, with a warranty, is a better option. As an aside here, one could then tear the TV down, and sell the Known Good bits. You'd be surprised who needs parts, i myself often must by from third party sources to effect a repair. So money could be recouped, somewhat, and help out someone else.

You can buy almost any wall mount for it, just be sure of 2 or 3 things... 1st the location, you have to screw some rather large bolts into the wooden studs in the wall so check where it will be located... 2nd weight and size... You want a mount that will be able to hold up the weigh of the TV, usually the size will be between 32" to 40" (various mount sizes) Just make sure the size 37" is between the size lengths... and 3rd that it has a "tilt" adjustment... due to the placement of the TV you might get either reflection off of a light source or you may need to change the angle so that you can see it better on the wall... Hope this helps out and if in doubt be sure to ask someone at the store you buy your equipment (TV, Audio, Games, etc)...

Not sure if you figured it out yet, but I bought the same set, about the same time you did, and had a heck of a time finding the code that worked on the Dish Network 5.4 IR remote.
I *FINALLY* figured out today that it uses the 3rd one listed for Sansui, which in the case of Dish Network, is 721.

I know you've probably figured this out by now, since you posted last May, but I figured I would post the solution, since I just found it, and someone else may want to know.
I bought one of these sets the day after Christmas 2009, and finally figured out the code that works with the Dish Network 5.4 IR remote.
I did a Code Scan, and found that the code that works is 721. In the Dish Network listing, this is listed as the third code for Sansui.

Hope someone finds this useful, even if it's too late for you.
