the TV is 11 years old (2009) the bank lamps can be dead.
for sure most the boards inside can fail, both power ,digital and the back lamps'
why not let a shop do this or upgrade cheaper. like all others do..
In reality the problem is that you got a generic TV which is Dynex and you really need the genuine remote perform all of the required settings and functions perfectly if you're buying also a generic remote you're going to have difficulty with this you have to try multiple settings before that remote is going to work perfectly

bottom right hand side of screen. directly behind the screen or on the very bottom. the touch sensitive control pads are deceptive. there is no actual "button" per say. try using a flashlight to locate the power symbol along with the menu and volume "button"
bottom right side of screen, either on the very bottom or the back of the screen. should be a touch sensitive power button along with menu and volume controls
