Sounds like you are possibly tripping the breaker or have a power issue with the control board in the unit. Contact a professional.

if it's a small rectangular magnet that appears, in our case, fell out, when you add detergent, softener, etc...the magnet goes on the right hand bottom corner of the drawer face, straight up and down, not sideways. this is evidently some type of sensor allowing the washer to start. we had an error code of "ddo" when the magnet fell out.
