Will not rinse well

Is the dishwasher leaving them soapy or dirty with food due to the no rinsing? If the problem is still dirty with food you can try some of the following tips. Choose a cycle with longer washing time. Avoid nesting items on top of each other or layering them too close together. The home water pressure may be too low; it should be between 20-120 psi (pounds per square inch) which should be checked by a plumber. The incoming water temperature should be at least 120F at the sink closest to the dishwasher before starting a wash cycle. For heavy food soils always select HI-TEMP WASH option if available. Check for water hardness. Water hardness can be determined by the local water supply company, water treatment company or via a water hardness test kit, which can be found at local part distributors or hardware stores. In areas where the water hardness is 12 grains or higher, some kind of water softening is recommended. For very hard water a home water softening system would be recommended. Always use fresh detergent, the older the detergent (About one year) the less effective it is at cleaning dishes

How do I get error codes on my washer

Hi Fred, try this and see if it works: To recall an error code, • Wake the machine by pressing any button • Wait 5 seconds • Press and hold the Start and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously • All LEDs will go blank and after a few seconds the control will signal the stored code using audible beeps and blinking LEDs. The control will repeatedly signal the code, as long as the Start and Pause Cancel buttons are pressed. A two-second pause between repeats affords you the ability to make accurate counts to identify the correct error codes. Once you have your code information, you have the option to reach out to the manufacturer to determine what the issue may be, or feel free to reconnect with me and I will attempt to assist you with the best of my ability. Thanks again for your inquiry!

I can't get my front loading washer to reset

How are you trying to reset the unit, and why? Did you see any error code? You can unplug the unit or simply turn the circuit breaker off for 3-5 minutes. This should do the trick, unless there is another root problem.

When I close the door and push start it makes a buzzer sound and then nothing happens, sort of like it is not locking properly.

Hi - From what you have described it sounds like the door strike is not aligning with the door lock or the washer possibly has a defective door switch. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose the unit.

How to get to the pump frigid are

Hi - Are you referring to the coin trap? If so, I recommend trying the following:

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion thing. This is the coin trap.

4. Clean the drum out with as much water as possible and have towels ready. The next step you will have the remaining water come out.

5. At the top of the coin trap where it is attached to the drum is a silver spring with a silver screw. Loosen the screw and wiggle the coin trap down from the drum.

6. Reach inside the coin trap and clean what is inside of it out.

7. Put the unit back together following the same steps backwards

Hello, welcome to FixYa

It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, bad reed switch etc. hence the control will not initiate a spin. If you could varify the model number I could speak specifically about your washer. The causes can be different for electronic or mechanical models.

Generally...

Let me know if you this model is correct and we can go from there..
Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

The washer will not spin. It will go back and

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on what you've described, and provided the unit is draining ( and I mean the drum is clear of water aside from the items being soaking wet )...you likely need a door lock/switch assembly.

**The door latch is likely the single most common fault (which prevent's any spin, and consequently drenching wet clothing at the end of the cycle) with the frigidaire/electrolux built washer's, ASIDE FROM PUMPS BEING OBSTRUCTED.**

I think it fool's many people because the lock indicates it is energized on the panel, however the built in "monitor" switch inside the assembly fail's. I do see a lot of these particular machine's...unfortunately.

You should be able to purchase one at most local brick & mortar stores or on-line part's depot's such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclininc.com" to name a couple. They usually sell for about $50 or so, part # 1531974 ( # at repairclinic.com ) and are relatively easy to replace. It should resemble the image here...

As for replacing said switch, There are a couple ways to access it, through the top and squeezing your arm down the front or the way I prefer, remove the front bellows spring/retainer.

1) **UNPLUG THE WASHER FROM THE WALL OR TURN OFF THE BREAKER...SAFETY FIRST.**

2) Remove the spring, get it started where the spring is located with a small screwdriver. Once you`ve got the spring/retainer off ( it comes off and on pretty easy by hand ) pull the gasket/bellows back away from the cabinet.

3) Undo the two screws holding the switch to the cabinet, pull the switch out ( there is just enough slack in the wires so don`t pull too hard ) and swap the wires from the old assembly to the new one and you`re in business.

4) To put it back together, just reverse the removal procedure. The trickiest part is the retainer. Rap the retainer around the boot leaving the spring for the last...and make sure the spring is located at the 6 o`clock position...usually. Just wherever it was initially.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if my instructions are not clear.

P.S.
There is a slim chance of a faulty motor or motor control board, but that would not be where I would direct you to start...those are exceptions rather than the rule.

Thank you for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

It sounds like the door latch is not working correctly. As a safety feature the unit will not run without sensing the latch is locked. Check the male end on the door first. If that is not broken then you will need a new door latch assembly.

I have a Frigidaire front load washer (3.5

It's probably your door switch, as they fail often on this unit. If defective, the door switch will not allow your machine to go into spin. Replacing the switch is easy, but it's a $90 part, which is the pain. The door switch is located behind where the latch catches the door and locks the door closed, when working properly. Remove the top lid (two screws in the back) and the two screws holding the door switch, then reach down and pull it up. Pay close attention on how the wires hook up and hook up the new unit. Reassemble and watch your machine spin!

Water in the drum

The problem is probably the pump being clogged with an object. Typically it is a coin.
Remove the front bottom cover to access the pump. Remove the two hoses. Make sure you have a pan to catch the water from the hoses. You will be able to remove the objects after the hoses are removed.

Hi. My washer suddenly stopped running

HI there,

Well first of all you can check the motor coupler-
To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.
If it isn't spinning then you may have a broken coupler. many washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it. Please post comments for more help or information.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

My Frigidaire Affinity washer makes a loud buzzing sound when you push the start button and will not start, what can I do

Good Morning Anonymous, this is Z. I am happy to assist you! I understand that your door indicates it is open and your dryer will not operate. Let's attempt resetting your dryer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is good to wait approximately ten minutes and turn on your dryer. Select a normal cycle and verify if your dryer will start. If your dryer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.
