You probably have dry bearings from all the heat over the years. Unplug the unit and remove the back to expose the bearing and shaft. Using a light oil such as 3-in-1 squirt oil into the bearing and let it soak in. Do this several times and keep a rag under the bearing to catch any excess oil. Odds are that with a little lubricant the dryer will quiet down and work fine for many more years. This would also be a good time to clean any lint and dust bunnies out of the unit. Reassemble and test. You should be good to go. Let me know if I can be of anymore help.

You may have one of several parts malfunctioning. If the water level sensor isn't working or the water solenoid sticks, this will happen. Let it fill and when it is at a point where it should shut off, check for voltage at the water solenoid (should be where the hoses hook up) If there is voltage there, the sensor is suspect. The sensor is behind the knob or buttons that get set for the load size. There is a tube running down into the tub from the sensor. That could be blocked. Otherwise, the sensor itself is probably your best bet.

unplug it and count to 10 and plug it back in.

If that doesn't work, remove the drain hose from its clips and lower the hose into a bucket. The unplug it and plug it back in. The water level switch also controls the door lock.

Its possible, the water valve will be energised to allow water to come in. The only way to confirm is to pull the fridge out and see if the noise is coming from where the water hose would normally be connected.

first try moving your drain hose higher it can cause this problem

Unplug it for 5 minutes. If that doesn't work, you may need to empty it of water by lowering the drain hose into a pail lower that the door.
