Top load--will not agitate--will not
First thing hook lid switch back up. Remove front cover to see if belt is broke, if so replace. I am guessing belt is worn or broke. This model has an electronic motor. If belt is ok or you have to replace it and machine spins slowly. Then unplug unit for 2 minutes, plug back in and open and close lid slowly 7 times, this will reset electronic motor, machine should work correctly again. These machines with electronic motors are prone to this problem. When washing don't overload, you will have this problem over and over again if you overload machine.
Tub is not spinning
door switch need to be replace or bypass :) dont slam the door next time ...
Washer drum doesn't turn. motor humms.
HI. You will need to inspect the drive assembly. If it is a direct drive assembly, gain access to the drive assembly, and inspect the motor coupler for damage. If this is a belt driven assembly, you will need to inspect the thrust bearing, which are an integrated part of the drive pulley assembly, for damage, and make sure the belt is not loose, or broken. If all is well in these areas, the motor will be the culprit. Before you replace th motor, use the procedure below to confirm the damage.
MOTOR TEST PROCEDURE:
Locate your washer's motor. There will be two wire leads connected to the motor. Disconnect the motor's two wire leads from the wiring harness. Set your multimeter to the R x 1 setting. Touch each of the meter's probes to one terminal each. Your motor should show little resistance (a reading of zero, or close to zero).
Now check the ground connection. Place one probe on the bare metal housing of the motor. Place the other probe on each terminal, one at a time. You should not receive any reading on your meter from this test.
If your washer's motor fails either of these tests, you will have to replace it.
There is a burning smell from the door switch when
This is more than likely cause by a loose connection and if it hasnt gone yet it will soon. As long as the smell isnt coming from another source such as the tub area. This part will also cause the machine not to go into the spin cycle due to safety reasons if faulty. part number for the lid switch is 134101800, and should be replaced by a technician. Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Sometimes the machine just fills up with water,
The FRIGIDAIRE washing machine as in all washers have what is called a WATER LEVEL SWITH. This switch is on the top and this is where you select small, medium or large water levels. This water level switch has a clear hose from the top of swith to the side of the out tub. Please check the following:
1- check that the hose is hooked up on both sides and inspect it that it does not have any holes.
2- There could be a small sock or something foreign in between the inner and out drum therefore clogging up this hole.
3- Replace the water-level swith.
Washer wont spin
It is your cluch on your motor. Your cluch what holds your transmission in place while spinning.
My washer started making sort of a knocking kind
First thing to do is tswitch oiff the AC power and wait for 30 minutes then switch it back on. Make sure you do a light load only and try again. If the error persists then then there may be:
- a defective load sensor
- problem with too much water in the drum (which will be aproblem with the pressure or water level sensor)
- the drum support mountings
- drum support tenstion springs
- drum or motor bearing.

Cold water constantly runs even when the knob is
If it fills with water and starts the cycle and
the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the
water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing. The cold side can fail independently of the hot side.
Leaking water out of the bottom
Hi,
Leaking water from a washing machine usually comes from hoses or connections. Be sure that water appearing to be a
leak isn’t drain water from a backed-up standpipe. To prevent potential flood damage, which can occur if washing
machine supply hoses burst, be sure to install “no-burst” stainless-steel mesh hoses and lever-type shutoff valves,
as shown below. With these, you can easily turn off the levers for both hot and cold water between wash days.
1) Check the fittings where the hoses connect to the faucets and to the back of the washing machine. Also look for
worn or leaky hoses. Tighten couplings or hose clamps if needed, or replace the hoses altogether. Be sure to turn
the water off before removing the hoses, and drain them into a bucket after disconnecting them.
2) Determine whether the machine is oversudsing, which can cause the machine to overflow. Reduce suds by pouring 1/2
cup white vinegar in 1 quart water into the washer. Then switch to either less detergent or a low-sudsing variety.
3) The machine may have a faulty basket gasket or tub seal and bearing that must be replaced; in this case, call an
appliance repairperson.

Washing cycle has finished but now the lid wont
you probably have a faulty lid switch/ locking mechanism. it is all in one. if the machine does not sense that the lid is closed properly, it will not start. you can try unplugging it to see if it will release the lid lock.
Our washer won't spin and
won't spin: Make sure nothing is caught on top of the inner basket or between the inner and outer tank. The motor sits on a roller and track assembly with springs to help keep the belt tension. This track gets rusty and dirty and may need cleaning, the track/glides also need a lubricant to keep the track moving freely. Sometimes the center bearing can get worn and bind on the transmission, this can, and will stop the washer from spinning and may also burn the belt. Try to turn the belt by hand, if it is super stiff...possible thecenter bearing has seized.

but if it wont spin and also make some grinding noises then noisy in spin: One thing to check is the spin bearing, the bearing is inside the top of the brake package. There are damper pads glued on the base that the washer assembly sits on, these pads are a "buffer" between the suspension assembly and the base. If these pads wear out, usually a grinding type of noise is noticed, especially in the spin mode. How to change my damper pads.
