no model EEE stated, it has a model number, the screen is dead. if AC only fails. or AC pack is bad. a $15 part to buy. looks old to me, if older than 2010 all laptops have now bad, CCFL black lamps. use a flash light after power on, if you see data there now that is a bad back lamps dead. most are this old, 9 years old.

you must configure wi-fi setings,consult owners manual if you dont have any i can send you photocopy.These machines can auto-detect to a certain extent and static configuration seems to be relative to a cable connection otherwise dchp settings are optional as the machine auto-configures

caps lock on wep key,correct key length,re-install OS from F9 w"E"hilst booting if you seriously cannot connect,choose option(F9) every other boot then press "E" then press "B" then proceeed with initial config pages(time,location,passwd,etc)

Run the recovery software in the programs menu and fallow the prompts.

double click the sound icon beside the time, make sure all is turned up as load as they go. hope this helps in some way,

Often it is very likely your portable battery, or charger / charger cords went bad.

Try running your laptop with no battery installed that is the battery removed. If the battery is very bad your PC may not power up at all even when plugged in for safety.

If you do not get any lights at all (LCD screen or others) running only on your charger, please test your charger on another similar laptop or have it checked at a store/ or with a meter. It may be out. A cord or wire may be broken on it (common problem also) - physical parts and batteries wear first.

You may also try another battery if available. Look for any signs of or smells of burning or overheating on any parts for more clues.

Replace any bad battery or charger.

One of two ways. A reload of the entire operating system may do it. However, I just encountered a similar issue involving a laptop from spain, the only way to get it to english was a setting in the bios and a translator. I hope the reload works for you, because I know the spanish translator we found was easier than finding the chinese translator you will need. You might try contacting Asus, they may be able to walk you through it by telling you what column or line to scroll down to and where to make the change, without the translation.

I suggest this, of course if you'd like: you change the keyboard layout to English (if you want to use English), can be UK or US.
Then you change what is written in the keyboard buttons with the correct one ("English" letters).

how to change the keyboard layout:
In Advanced Mode the default keyboard layout is set to the US. These instructions inform KDE to use a different layout; for example the UK.

• Launch / Control Centre / Control Centre, and select Peripheral Devices / Keyboard Layout
• Under Available layouts select your country then click Add ».
• Change layout variant to eeepc.
• Click Apply.
• Under Active layouts select U.S. English then click Remove.
• Click Apply.

If your computer already set for English keyboard layout, if you push your button, it should follow that international keyboard layout. (can be with some small modification). You can just try out for each button.
