Windows XP Pro. driver for the acer LCD Monitor X193W

Hi,

To my knowledge, it is compatible and certainly would work with XP. Since this monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs make is compatible for most video cards or even a built-in video of the PC. If for some reason the Acer X193W would not work with your Windows XP PC, possible reasons are:
  • Screen Resolution and/or Screen refresh Rate of the PC's Display Properties too high, try lowering them down;
  • hardware fault either on the monitor or video card;
  • incorrect/missing drivers of the video card;
  • it is being hooked as a secondary monitor and the dual/twin view is not activated.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

My acer pc is not booting properly

there maybe faulty installed hardware on your PC. remove those hardware like sound & video card (if any), PCI modem, CD/DVD ROM, etc. turn on your PC without those hardware & if/ there's nothings change?..it means that there is no wrong with your PC's hardware. turn the PC off, re insert IDE & power supplies cable of your hard disk drive to make it sure that the HDD is properly connected & being detect by the system. remove the memory card and clean or wipe the connector surface of the RAM with tissue paper. (change new memory card if needed). check the mother board C-MOS 3 volts battery if it is volts sufficiently .turn your desktop on & wait for good results.( Reformatting your OS is also recommended.)GOOD LUCK!

X193W LCD Monitor: when windows loads screen goes black...

Try it on another PC nad also check the VGA cable and all the pins first.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My 5.6 inch colour screen starts but only black and white shows

Well it sounds like you un-seated the cable that send the picture to to the monitor. The reason you are only getting a white screen is that the backlight is on but there is no data coming through to display. The cable usually is a ribbon that fits into a slot. The slot then locks by pushing down on the cable and that makes the connection. It is easy to pull this cable out of the slot slightly (or all the way) and this will cause the problem that you are experiencing. I'm not sure of your exact model but the cable and connection looks something like this:http://mwolk.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/laptop_screen_replacement_datacable.jpg As for fixing your wireless, you usually don't need to do anything to the laptops display. You should be able to remove the bottom cover and access the wireless card from there. The antenna are the black and white wires that are coming off the wireless card. You can check those connections as well as, in most cases, remove the card and replace it with one that works. This should be a picture of your model or similar, you can see where the wireless card is located:http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5610z/lapatop-disassembly-03.jpg
