Dude, CPU never gets affected by virus. The issue seems to be with something else. Try disassembling the board and then reassemble it. You may also format the harddisk and reinstall windows.

Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. I am using an Asus Vivo mini computer approx 5 years old. Since December I often receive error message across top, "Microsoft Edge (not responding)"

Microsoft Edge is one of the worst browsers ever invented. It is flashy and looks pretty, but is not user friendly and is glitchy.
The most likely issue for that Error Message is your Internet Wifi signal dropping out. You can test this theory two ways.
Do you have a smartphone? Download the Free App Speedtest. When you get the Edge Error, whip out your phone and do a Speed Test. If it stalls or only returns a speed of 5 to 10 mbps, that is your issue.
Or Download Google Chrome which is FREE and a much more robust browser and easier to use. Keep both Edge and Chrome open, when Edge collapses, try to do things on Chrome. If Chrome works, then the issue is Edge. If Chrome also fails, the issue is your Wifi and Router. A Router reboot should be done about once a month.
