Boot Path Issue? HP m9150f 3rd failed hard drive

You may need to flash the BIOS to correct this problem. If your "Failed" drives can be "seen" and you can identify files on them, the problem is likely not the HDD but a problem in BIOS regarding a corruption of the BIOS itself. This should be looked at by someone familiar with the BIOS setup for your machine, and they need to look for the Boot Path order to see if it makes sense. This is not a disk issue from the description you gave, and should be correctible by renewing the BIOS program in NVRAM on the system board. A qualified tech should do this job unless you know someone who is familiar with this level of computer technology. My guess is you have no one who you know that can diagnose this problem and correct it that you know, otherwise you would not be posting this question. You can download the BIOS file from HP for that specific model, and put it on a USB drive that is bootable, and then refresh the BIOS yourself but I am assuming you have no experience in doing this, so your best bet is to take the failed drive/s and the computer to a tech and have them determine the exact issue and resolution. That has to be less expensive than buying hard drives annually, perhaps a different solution will be better than the ones you have already tried. If your PC is able to use a solid state drive you may want to consider this option instead of a traditional HDD.

I want to replace/install 1.5TB drive in HP Elite Desktop, HOW?

no OS stated. if it was working now, we'd not do any of that, take no data risk. why risk it? we'd build new machine, and the clone it over. (all the ways ,lots) then you unplug this old dog and put the new one online. after testing it fully, sure. that gets ride of the hate stuff, no? doing it right? no idea at all the system usage on a DOMAIN at work or a server behind a fire wall or a server to the web with web content? a gaming server at home a video server at home. or?????? i can go here like 100 pages of ideas..... seems to me that be first to know. or just a account payable server in Finance office. answer 2. that raid controller must be learned. did you read the full book on it yet that be first first if doing this the hard way. all such controllers have there own set of rules. some are very smart can just plug in a drive and it syncs. then add or replace more, slowly and with monitors running from HP to make sure its ok as you go. Like done on huge proliant servers. question 1 who's RAID is it MS pure software raid (sux) on board STAT raid chip of some kind. (no full service tag shown) or adding major top raid controller, (best of best this is) ?????????????????? if i search HP.com for your DT, puter is a dead product. so can not read you manual for you, https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-m9000-Desktop-PC-series/3644723/model/3644724/ the word raid is missing in all manuals there. so I must be using the wrong model number try going to HP.com the tell HP your full tag data, and then see if its the model with RAID< if yes,the books now match your rig. then read the manual on the rules for RAID i bet you they SUX. most do on cheap raid controllers. its not high end and is the pathway to H3LL of you guess. best i can find is not at HP but the chip it has, Intel ICH9R id talk the these guys on that, https://communities.intel.com/thread/48046 the limits are in the HP BIOS rom too. more links, gee ask HP.cOM forum>? http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=vc_73576_2 here is a web search https://duckduckgo.com/?q=HP+RAID+ich9r++setup+rules&t=ffnt&ia=web

Yes you can, for hard drives larger than 2TB you will need a 64 bit operational system like Windows 7, XP recognizes hard drives up to 2TB.

Computer unexpectedly reboots

There could be a number of things wrong with the system that would cause it to randomly reboot. 1. Try an antivirus scan. Use a good, trustworthy antivirus software to scan for viruses. There are good, free software programs out there such as Avast! Free, Avira Free and AVG Free, if you don't already have an antivirus. 2. Is the computer overheating? Check to make sure your rear vents on the computer are not blocked or obstructed. If you aren't scared to open up the case, check to make sure it isn't clogged with dust. You could also try to check for faulty cooling fans inside the system. 3. Is there a problem with Windows? Have you made any changes to Windows recently? You can try a system restore, defragmenting the disk or running a disk cleanup.
