Good Day Tkidwell!
Better check and clean the ADF platen glass and the flatbed scanner glass.
Use a lint clothe moistened with alcohol or water and gently wipe the dirt in the glasses of the ADF platen and flatbed scanner.
You can also try cleaning the roller by performing the deep cleaning.
Ink system failure
Hello,
The ink system has to pump up or be primed to work and yours just did
not complete it on its own. Have you inserted all 6 inks ? They need to
be in to have ink to prime the machine. Try holding down the ok --
cancel -- black -- color buttons with 4 fingers while at the same time
powering the unit off. Keep them held down till it is off. Then turn it
back on normally and it should try to do "Maintenance" and you hear a
whirling noise --- that is the ink pump spinning to try and pump in
ink to the print head. If all fails you may have a bad printer out of
the box.

Please try this solution.
Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT INK MESSAGE to appear.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Now open again the printer door. Move the carriage using your hand from the original position to the other side of the printer and then move it back to original position. Wait for couple of minutes
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the ink cartridges and close the door. Wait for the calibration process.
Print the test page to check if it working.
Reconnect the USB cable and try to print again.

My C7280 has suddenly started
Turn off your printer
Open the cover
1 move the cartridge carrrier manually to the center manually with your hands to the center
2 .Open the cartridge carrier Remove the cartridges used a clean paper make sure its dry wipe the area where the ink goes out make sure its clean .CLean also the area where you return your cartridges make sure its clean OK .
3 >return it properly close the carrier properly make sure there's a snap sound produced
close thecover
try to turn it back on
4 .try to print a test page in case nothing happens
I believe there's a clean catridge options on the software installed try to looked for that one usually its a clean cartridge .incase no go try it gain but on the second attempt you have the same problem Replaced the black first .

2 .Open the cartridge carrier Remove the cartridges used a clean paper make sure its dry wipe the area where the ink goes out make sure its clean specially the gold plate .CLean also the area where you return your cartridges also the contacts on the cartridge carrier make sure its clean OK .
Then return it again
You may also do that when your printer is on
1 . Open the cover first wait for the carrier to move to the center
2.thats the time you will remove the cartridge and clean and clean the cartridge carrrier
3.open again the cover reinsert the cartridges
make sure its close properly

If still nothing happens probably you have a fake cartridge which is not recognized by the Hp printer Ill be advising you to return it back and asked for a replacement OK

How do i reinstall my
Hi There!
For you to install your software without the cd follow these steps:
-Go to www.hp.com
-Click on the support & drivers link at the upper right hand part of the homepage
-Click on the green box for Support & Drivers
-Type in C7280 in the product/model number box
-Please select your Operating system
** To verify what is your Operating System click START> right click on My Computer then click on Properties.
-on Step 2. click on Driver and under it click on HP Photosmart Full Feature Software & Drivers
-click on the Downlaod button on the next page
-Click on Save
-Once the download is finished just Run or double click on the file that you have downloaded and follow the on screen instructions. Hope this helps
Can not scan to mac
There are multiple ways to use the scanner on your Mac. If your Mac recognizes the scanner as a device, then you can use the
scan from the Mac using Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder). You can also use Picasa by going to the import function and finding the scanner and try it from there.
If you are having issues getting the HP scanner to recognize the Apple device. Here is the official website for the download from HP. Apple drivers sometimes do the job of getting the scanner to be recognized, but the official drivers might do better.

For In-Warranty products, please do not do any self troubleshooting.
Immediately contact HP technical support to have them troubleshoot the
problem for you. In most cases, printers with these error messages are
replaced but you must also be patient and follow the technical support's
instructions and basic troubleshooting. I recommend you to read our

For Out-of-Warranty products, I am afraid you have to exert extra
effort to be able to resolve this issue on you HP printer. Below are
ways that I recommend to resolve this.
You need to do some basic troubleshooting steps below and hope that
it would fix the problem.
- Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the
product, but leave the product turned on.
- Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.
- Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to
display.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and the wall
socket, then wait for one minute.
- Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn
on, press the Power button.
- Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.
- Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
- Print a Self Test to verify product is functional.
- Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print from the computer.
Erro message on my printer
before u replace all ink try to clean up connector with alcoholic tissue, if doesn't work u must reinstall driver.

Assuming that you have Windows operating system.
You need to go to control panel in your computer and under control panel you will see harware and networking ( if its windows 7) Printers and other hardware ( Windows XP) and once you go there you will see icon of your printer right click on it and you will get an option to set your printer online.
If it does not work that means there is some problem in the connectivity of computer and printer.
