To do an NVRAM reset follow these steps:

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Hold down the Cancel button and the right arrow button and while holding them turn on the power.
3. Wait for the message Permanent storage unit. Then release the buttons.

Wait for about 2 min. When the printer is back at the ready screen it has been reset.

Warning:it will reset EVERYTHING, including your serial number and everything else that matters.

NOT CONNECTED it is most likely physically not connected... but once you have done that (should be enough) there should be no need to repeat the process... If they have already been introduced to each-other.. just power off the PRINTER... (unplug the cord). 30 seconds would be great... On repower your printer should come up looking for it's home router... Else... Both ends are designed to survive a simple power outage. Power them off together... (and restore the power) They should come up looking for each-other. Still no connection... Try restarting your PC or MAC Failing ALL that... call COMCAST... (1-888-COMCAST) While you are waiting... jot down their ROUTERS name and password...Then go to the hp PRINTER... POKE the "set-up" button and walk the display (most likely starts with "HELP"). Walk the MENU down to network ... push "OK"... Print out a copy of your network settings... Look for the MAC number (displays 0 -9 or A thru F (hexadecimal))... You only need to be able to recognize the last few characters... (((MAC address: they are a unique identifier))). So you will know what you "TECHY" will be doing for you... The HP M2727 has a known issue with the scanner error 8 and bad formatters. HP has extended the warranties on this product. I suggest you contact them directly and they will most likely exchange the unit.

The panel menu attaches to the DC Control Board. I would remove the panel and reseat the connection.

This is due to a hardware failure, the scanner assembly and the formatter board will need to be replaced.

Try doing a hard or reset or nvram:
1. Turn the printer off
2. Hold down the right arrow and the cancel button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.

if this does not work contact hp 1800-334-5144 , if within 2 years from the purchase date ask for a case number to have the printer serviced under a service note.

This is a problem with either the formatter board or the dc controller, try doing an nv ram ( turn off the printer and hold down the right arrow and the cancel button, turn the printer back on and continue holding until you see permanent storage init). If this doesn't work call hp tech support 1800 334 5144 and ask for a case number. This printer has a service note which will cover the formatter for 2 years.

Is the problem the same printing from pc ? If yes the problem is in the toner cartridge . If no the problem is in the scanner .

Turn off the power by using the power switch,
wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the
power and wait for the product to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it.
Plug the product directly into the wall socket.
Use the power switch to turn the product on.
If the error persists, contact HP. See

The 50.2 code on nearly all HP laser based machines including your M2727nf means you have a fuser error. The fuser unit is the assembly that heats up and "fuses" the toner onto the paper. There are a few things you can try including, power cycle the printer and see whether the code resets or try reseating the Fuser Unit. Neither of these will resolve the issue in most cases. Most of the time fuser unit replacement is necessary.
Here is a link for you to see pricing and a picture for your fuser unit. You may want to just buy your own fuser and replace it if your are mechanically inclined. If not you can have a local printer repair shop replace it for you. At least they won't rip you off on the price of the fuser unit.

Are you installing SOFTWARE over network (i.e. from remote server) or you're installing your MFP over network? The latest means that you're installing software on your machine from CD/DVD/Image/etc and trying to connect to your MFP over network.

if this does not work, have it serviced they will need to replace the formatter board as well as the scanner assembly.

If within 2 years from the purchase date contact HP and request for a case number the printer has a service note for a scanner error 5 or 8.

Turn off printer. Hold the CANCEL and > buttons, and turn on printer. When you see Permanent Storage Init release the two buttons. When the process completes you will see the ready message. This will reset ALL menu settings. If you screwed up the firmware update, you will have to replace the formatter. The NVRAM reset won't help you!!!
