I lost my user manual for the hp photosmart C6280 all in one can u help me. I don't know how to use the top tray
The user manual (and other guides) for the HP Photosmart C6280 are available from HP at: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01150745.pdf
The tray selection is not listed well in the index, but the informaton you are looking for is probably found in pages 38-40 which deal with using the photo tray.

I bought this scanner/printer/copier because I thought I could scan documents and save them as files on my computer. I don't have a manual, and I cannot figure out how to scan documents and save them on my computer. I am job hunting and need to scan and save my college transcripts, so that I can send them digitally to prospective employers. The files cannot be larger than 2 GB.
Question: How can I scan and save documents with the HP Photosmart C6280 scanner?
Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:
Photosmart C6280
See page 80:
You will need the "All in One" software for your computer:

is there no way I can print without black ink? I need to write an important document, and I don't mind doing it with blue ink, but it doesn't let me. I've literally spent 30 minutes trying to find a way. Help, please.
From HP's website:
The printer will not operate unless all six ink cartridges are installed. Also, HP cannot guarantee the quality of refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges.
Try this::
Leave the empty cartidge in and go to print, select the printer, click on preferences, then the paper/Quality tab. there select color and best. This way you wil be able to print your document.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

My printer keeps saying insert memory card and will not let me print anything. I have my computer connected through the USB cable, I pulled my printers up on the computer and it showed them offline. Tried connecting online and it now shows error. I'm completely illiterate in these matters.
The message is not an error message and does not indicate an issue with the product. The message is designed to be an invitation to print photos from a memory card. Follow these steps to insert a memory card into the product. ink cartridge problem( s) appear to be missing or damaged
hi there,
Ink cartridge Problem
Cause : The indicated ink cartridge(s) are missing or are damaged.
Solution : Replace the indicated ink cartridge(s) immediately so that you can resume printing. If there are no ink cartridges missing from the HP All-in-one, the ink cartridge contacts might need to be cleaned.
IF there is no ink cartridge missing from the HP All-in-One, and you still receive this message after cleaning the ink cartridge contacts, you might have a damaged ink cartridge. Replace the ink cartridge.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

I am trying to replace the battery.
Inside silly. ;)
(sorry couldn't resist)
Unplug,
Remove the right hand plastic side panel.
Ground yourself to discharge possible static electricity,
Remove the 5 screws holding the cct board.
Battery is on the cct board.
Be careful of damaging wires when reassembling.

Very suddenly, my printer has stopped feeding paper correctly. It will either try to pull a page through and fail stating that there is no paper, it will start to pull it through and then jam, or if it gets through it starts printing about half way down the page.
It seems to print better if I print on low quality so the paper shoots through the printer at high speed. If I print normal speed it either can't feed it through or the paper jams every time.
Very frustrating!
Any ideas? I can't seem to find anything wrong visually and there doesn't seem to be anythign stuck inside as far as I can tell.
Please onsult this HP support article and follow the steps outlined there to clean the rollers, etc. Frequently this roller cleaning and possibly a reset is all that's required to clear the jam error. (If you have access to compressed air, you can gently blow air throught the printer to clear out paper dust and debris from inside.
Also be sure to follow the instructions in the manual or here to load the paper correctly, fan sheets before loading, and if the problem continues, try flipping the stack of loaded paper upside down and reloading, or try another kind of paper..
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

My HP C6280 had an empty cartridge. I replaced it and the printer is recognizing it, but when I go to print the computer says that I need to replace the ink cartridge. I have Windows Vista. I have also gone on the computer and checked the ink cartridge levels and it says it's full, but it won't recognize it when I actually need to print. It just keeps saying I can only print in black.
This is what worked for me today..
Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:
1) Press Red Eye Removal & Print Photos button simultaneously
2)Enter Special Key Combo is displayed on the screen.
Press and release in sequence "Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "Red Eye Removal"
Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev XXXXX.
3) Press Right Arrow button until "Reset Menu" is displayed. Press OK.
4) Press Right arrow untill "Semi full Reset" is displayed.
5) Press OK.
Now, check the functionality of the All-in-One. If the issue persists, please perform the next troubleshooting steps
