The NDR 1062 refrigerator only

Hi there,

Since the refrigerator works by heating a chamber by either a gas burner or an electric heating element, the heating element is faulty.
It could also be an electrical connection somewhere that is faulty.
The heating element is located behind some sheet metal covering and insulation just above the gas burner area.

Thanks

Does my old propane fridge have a element ?

Propane refrigerators have a gas burner to create the heat for refrigerant circulation. Some propane refrigerators that were used mostly in RV's also had an electric heat element that ran off a power cord or 12 volt battery.

To determine this look at the back of the refrigerator, you will see a gas line that ends in a burner on the lower left side (looking from the back). Just above that about 4 inches will be wires coming out of the box if an electric heat element is used.

UNIT STOPED COOLING. NO FAULT

Hi, working with ammonia refrigeration takes equipment different then the average service tech would use, and must know how to work with this freon, R-717A If it were my unit, yes, I would have it repaired, but only if it has leaked all of its freon out. This way they don't have to spend the time using a recovery machine to recover whats left. It can get rather expensive. Here's what you do. You know you have a leak and where its at. Get an estimate for complete repairs on this unit. Get an estimate on having a new box installed, and take into consideration the unit being 7 years old, and base your decision on these facts. To be honest, once a system starts to develop leaks, it may spring leaks in other areas of your system. I would lean more toward a new unit due, and based on its age. I hope this has helped you in your decision.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

I have a Dometic RV refrigerator Model # NDR1062

My best guess without seeing it is you are not getting gas to the unit

Break the gas supply line at the gas valve with the LP turned on and see if you are getting LP gas

Without the proper water column inch meter it is impossible to tell if you are getting the right pressure, but if your stove top, heater and water heater work then I sill guess you have rubber hoses feeding your refer. Propane and rubber build an oil that will over time plug the supply line and not allow LP to reach the refer. They have to be cleaned out and it is a messy job

My dometic refrigerator is not freezing properly.

If the refrigerator is 38 degrees and the freezer 18 degrees , both are not normal.

Have you used any hard and pointed object to remove any frozen food or Ice before this happen?

Have you notice any oily part coming out in the freezer or at the back of the refigerator which will indicate that there was a leak?

there are few factors that may cause your refrigerator to be like that:

1. A possible leak along with the tubing that will cause to loose the refrigerant which make the refrigerator to produce ice.

2. lost Compression (Motor compressor) this happen eventually specially the refrigerator is more than 10 years old

the best way to find out is to call a technician and have them check it

Fridge will not cool, freezer works fine

I have a similar problem on one of two NDR 1062's in my houseboat at Lake Shasta. We just had the recalls done on the electrical problem under the unit (whatever it was ours was on the list but OK). Now at #5 setting I am getting 27 degrees in the freezer box, but only 50-55 degrees in the bottom refrigerator. I had a temperature sensor cord going inside under the door gasket. The marina mechanic said to get rid of that, and we got down to 46 degrees. I checked the gasket and since the units are 9+ years old, I replaced the suspect part. Now at #3 setting we are still mid-20's in the freezer and at 39 degrees in the bottom box. Although the gasket seemed in good shape and pliable, a real close examination found several spots where contact was not good and I could feel cold air escaping. Hope that helps.

Dometic refrig,curcuit boards

thats normally a problem of either parts wear and tear or spiking in the the AC line ... if something like a water pump or something that turns on and then off suddenly is on the same line as the refridgerator it can cause such a problem also if the wires in the wall outlet or panel box have begun to run slack it can cause such problems as well ....

Dometic RV refrig light will not go out

Open up the door to the freezer, you will see two black switches upper right just above where the door would be when closed. Flip the first switch, then push the switch on the light in the fridge compartment and the light should go out. Thinking that switch is there to help reduce moisture inside fridge, just got pushed by mistake and light remains on. Hope this helps.

What would make a Dometic ndr 1292 only Burns for 6 minutes and the check light comes on?? circuitboard is good striker and a flame is good replaced thermocouple any suggestions?

I suggest verifying the refrigerator's thermostat configuration. it might result in the unit shutting down prematurely If it's set too low, Adjust the thermostat to the suitable setting. Moreover, insufficient gas supply can cause the flame to go out. Please examine the gas line for any obstructions and ensure the gas tank isn't empty

I have a dometic rm 2852 and it keeps blowing the 10 amp glass fuse, what could be causing this? It will not run on electic.

Electrical short circuit, you just have to find it. Look for pinched, trapped or abraded wires. In an RV, vibration from driving is the issue.

Dometic RM2652 Propane Fridge. Can I make my RM2652 Dometic into a manual running fridge on propane?

I have been trying to answer this for over an hour. I moved to a different browser. did you know this model was the subject of a recall?

Refrigerator Recall ' Dometic.com

https://www.dometic.com > en-us > outdoor > refrigerat... Please note the following combination of refrigerator model and serial numbers are affected: ยท Model numbers: NDR1062, RM2652, RM2662, RM2663, RM2852, RM2862, ...
I have searched extensively for spare but they are all marked out of stock or obsolete. You best bet is to call in a gas refrigeration engineer and see if there is a similar part that can be used. It needs to be something automatic.
