the fridge section will not freeze ice cream as the lowest setting 1- is not cold enough
The thermostat is normally on the side panel inside the compartment and is measured 1-10 with 4 being around the best setting
if you are referring to a 2 door fridge where the top or bottom section is the freezer, that temp will be preset in the factory and has nothing to do with the thermostat but indicates - door not sealed properly
compressor failure and needs a technician to check out the reason why
look at level side to side , and front to back. if not level door can leak . you will see water where it is leaking. check defroster is if staying on .

Freezer Frost inside Symptom Diagnosis Sears PartsDirect
The lucky solution is if the door seal or inner plastic liner need to be placed/repaired (this lets warmer air into the freezer causing frost and poor cooling).
But you can also see from the link that your symptoms could be caused by other electronic related things...more of a challenge to fix...

If you are talking about an external light, it is most likely a neon indicator light that tells whether you have lost power to the unit. Blinking is normal with age or power fluctuations. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_dc2f9e0a44104720
If compressor is running, have you given it enough time to recover? or you may have a faulty thermal protector on the compressor. Cold control setting on right position? I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_dc2f9e0a44104720
There should be a temperature adjustment inside the freezer somewhere. It will look like a slider or a dial, and be labeled something like "Colder" and "Less Cold" on opposite ends of the scale. If this is set to its coldest setting, and the temperature still is not cold enough to solidly freeze food (ideally, a freezer's temperature should reach ZERO degrees Fahrenheit), then the unit needs to be serviced by an appliance repairman.
I believe the Frigidaire owner's manual will give you suggestions. I have a Frigidaire and I keep mine on 4. That is the middle point. Set it there then wait a day or two and make sure you have nothing freezing inside and items in your refrigerator are cold enough for you. It's your personal preference.
