It is looking for the password for your disk, not the wifi password. This is a common issue when people connect a disk to a network as the user name and password are not compatible. A wireless client has to support WPS ( wi-fi protected service) function in order to use to add the client to your WPS enabled Wireless Router. check the iphone user manual of your wireless client to see whether it supports the WPS function. If your wireless client does not support the WPS function, you have to configure your wireless client manually so it has the same SSID and wireless security settings, you could also go into the advanced wireless settings and enable WPS ( push and connect ) if your router has this option this is sort of specifically for things like mobile/cellular phones and ipods...hope this helps please vote thanks

look on the bottom of the router. there should be a label on it with 6 characters on it. I THINK that is the password it is looking for.

Are you speaking about router about router log in password or Wireless network password.If you want to change the router log in password then you can go to Administration tab and change the log in password for router setup page.IF you want to change the wireless network security key WEP / WPA then you can change the wireless settings.

try reseting the router (pressing the button the size of the tip of a pen)
Do not try this if this is the main internet router (unless you dont have any choice).
It might need to be reset from Server side (your phone/internett company).
There might be some setings lost and you need to set a new password (the old one back)

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then - To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Can you tell me brand of the computer that is trying to connect? The reason for my asking is because there are computer brands that have an application built in their machines that does what you are experiencing.

Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds and release. This will reset the router to factory defaults.

Begin by turning on your computer and your router

? Make sure your service provider has activated your account and services on the subscribed line. Please check with your service provider to confirm this.
? Make sure that you are using the latest drivers. You can download the latest driver from Driver Downloads Database.
? Make sure that you have entered the right username and password (case-sensitive) as given by your service provider. For example, in Australia: user@bigpond; in NZ: [email protected].
? Open Internet Explorer;
? Click on 'Tools';
? Click on 'Internet Options';
? Click on 'Connections';
? Click on 'Setup'
? Click on 'I want to set up my Internet connections manually . . .';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'I connect through a local area network (LAN);
? Clock on 'Next'
? Click on 'Next' [This is not an error];
? Click on 'No';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'To connect to the Internet immediately . . .; and,
? Click on 'Finish'.

That should have you online.

However, if it doesn't, click on 'Tools' again and then click on 'Diagnose Connection Problems' and follow the instructions.

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wirelesssettings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also thewireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with theserouter's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicatewith your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default PW (write it down and putit in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

Please disconnect and internet link and try to access the the Linsys WRT100 management page and see the logs why the router is loosing the connection. If you dont get anything then it might be some issue on the device. A reset may solve your issue.

Please be aware the if u reset the wireless Router you will loose all your configuration and you have to reconfigure the wireless Router.

Please press the tiny black button at the back/beneath of the wireless Router and keep pressing for 2 minutes. The sys light will start blinking slowly and then rapidly. then release the button and wait for 2 minutes for the device to boot up with factory default settings.

Once you are done you can connect to 192.168.1.1 ip address and it will open the your Linksys Router management web page where you can reconfigure your wireless router again.

I think the best solution is to buy a new antenna with more gain ( 12dBi )
