Try using a chillpad, it's just a little pad that has a fan on that you put in your lap and sit your laptop on that. You could try getting a fan for the laptop. I would recommend calling hp and getting an extended warranty (you can still do this even if your laptop is out of warrenty). I think this might be a problem with the motherboard. Lots of people have been having problems with there tx1220us over heating and burning parts up. the next step is your computer will quit booting which is where the warranty will kick in. it will save you about 150 to 250 dollars. If many apps are running, you may get a "not enough Memory" error message. You can close down some currently running apps and you might be able to install more. Then again, maybe it doesn't have enough memory for more apps. Just a thought.
