Frigidaire 11.6 cu. ft. / 328 liter Upright Freezer FFU12K1CW - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Quit freezing; turned off, defrosted,
Sound like the compressor is broken. The overload protection shuts down the compressor after a few second when it is not able to work properly.
As user, I don't think there is anything you can do but get some ice to save the food. A Technician may need to look at it as the compressor failure is a serious issue.
Makes rattling noise when compressor is running
more than likely you're hearing the refrigerant passing thru the evap coil. it's normal. it may sound like water boiling, gurgling or popping.it's in your manual under normal operating sounds.
Frigidaire Upright not cooling
Not enough information but if you are refering to the compressor as the black housing below, it seems that the compressor is either seized or burnt out.
Freezer is not running even the power receptacle is working
there are no fuses on a domestic freezer that i have ever seen. there are no fans and there are no traditional freezer coils. so you have only a few things that could be going on. if the temp is way up the thermostat should sense hot and close and send power to the compressor and it should run. you can do one of two things . find the thermostat inside the freezer usually . gently remove cover and check incoming terminal and outgoing terminal. if you show 120 volts its open and the stats bad. if you don't show 120 volts between terminal connections then its closed and the compressor is failing to start. if power is coming into the stat when checked to ground then go to compressor and see if there are starting components . they are a start capacitor and a START RELAY AND PERHAPS A OVER LOAD . SEE IF POWER IS ARRIVING AT THE COMPRESSOR. IF SO CHECK THE MICROFARED OUTPUT OF THEcapacitor . you need within 10 percent of the rated value. also you can gently remove the overload , a little plastic disc and look on the bottom side and see if its cracked or burned looking. an amp probe on the compressor will tell you what amps it pulls if it trys to fire up . 6 to 10 is good 30 to 50 is mechanically locked up and then the overload trips. if compressor is ice cold to touch then your not getting power to the compressor and its not trying to run. if its hot to the touch thens its trying but start caps weak , or its locked up. most domestic freezers are not worth the cost of a new compresssor anymore. good luck
UP RIGHT FRIGIDAIRE FREEZER AUTO DEFROST 11CF I THINK
This could be normal for the summer. This is the right temp to keep it at. Some units are meant to run 80 - 90 % of the time. Turn it all the way up and check the temp. Most units when working properly can get below 0. Check the condensor underneath for dirt and to see if the fan is running under there. (smaller units don't have anything underneath) Some have coils in the rear and the smallest units just use the sides of the cabinet to disperse the heat. Check the gasket see if its sealing properly or maybe the door is warped and not closing at the bottom.
Freezer not Freezing
ok promblem 1 raise th front levelingm legs so that when the door is released from opening 1/3 of the way it shuts its self promblem 2 if the ice gets so thick it blocks the air intake of the freezer it cant cool your defrost drain is blocked its under the back panel in the freezer and needs to be cleared
My Frigidaire up right freezer is showing an error code "FF" and is beeping. What is the issue?
Hey friend, thanks for your inquiry!
Within your Frigidaire freezer the error code "FF" stands for freezer failure. I would perform a reset on your appliance which can be done by either unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker. Once the freezer has come back on you should be able to push the "Down" button three times to start it back up.
If that does not correct the issue Please respond back I would like to assist you with any additional information. Hope this helps to some degree. -Matt
