Hi Keith, your set has two backlight circuits, one side sounds like it's working however the other string has at least one diode that's either open or several that are shorted, and the overload section of the backlight inverter are shutting down the negative side of the supply causing no backlights. The Universal remote will probably not work with all of the features/buttons of the TV's original remote. The RCR414bhe manual indicates a copyright date of 2018. The LED32B30RQD is 3 years newer. Usually a universal remote needs to be programmed 6 months after the TV was manufactured to include the full set of compatible codes. (It may work for On/Off or volume changes.
