Maytag Bravos 7.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Model MEDB850WQ0 Will not display time or start.
The problem is usually caused by a blown thermal fuse located on the
blower housing. This thermal fuse is wire in series with the motor and
when it blows open, power to the motor is cut and consequently the dryer
will not start. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run.
Check the continuity of the thermal fuse and if found open, replace it including the thermistor also on the blower housing. Refer to item numbers 41(thermal fuse) and 51(thermistor) in the link below.
Maytag MEDB850WQ0 Electric Dryer Bulkhead Parts DiagramYou can bypass
the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them
together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal
fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer starts. Do
not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards.

Had a power outage and believe a surge was sent
Ours did the exact same thing after a power outage. Our repair guy has been out 3 times, first he replaced the power board, then the motor and blower! He has to come back again with a moisture sensor now. Im begining to think he doesnt know what hes doing! By the time hes finished I will have replaced all the inside parts, Im afraid. Our dryer is only 16 months old. Did you ever get yours going? Any advice?
I have a Bravos clothes dryer and when the cycle
This dryer automatically starts in the "sensor dry" mode. DO NOT use the "sensor dry" mode - use the timed cycle where you manually set the time. The sensor is in the back of the drum, and it frequently misreads the wetness of the clothes, especially if there is a t-shirt or something light in the back and towels or something heavy in the front (near the door). If you are still under warranty, you can have the sensor replaced (or purchase one), but it only helps slightly.
Hi, My maytag bravos dryer is one year and 2
Sounds like the exhaust fan is not working. There's an electric blower at the back of the unit that forces air out through the exhaust vent. Unplug the unit, pull the vent off the back, and see if you can reach in and touch the fan blades and make them move. If it won't move something is probably caught in there. You may need to take off the back of the unit and remove the housing cover to the fan assembly in order to really tell what's going on, but it sounds like your fan has an obstruction. It could also be that the fan motor is fried but that seems less likely. Remember to have the unit unplugged, there's some dangerous voltage inside.
It doesnt dry the clothes, after 45 minutes they
It sounds like the fan isn't working properly (assuming all the ducting is clear).

I just got this HE dryer and the cloths aren't
It could have a faulty thermostat which shuts down to fast in drying mode, be sure and check that the vent is clear and not obstructed at all, thats the only way moisture has to leave the machine and dry the clothes

Does this Maytag Bravos electric dryer require
Assuming that your house is wired correctly, if the plug will physically fit into the outlet, then the outlet is capable of driving the appliance properly. A breaker for a dryer should be rated at 30 amperes. The breaker itself could be going bad (they tend to fail to the off position).
Your best bet is to actually use an amp meter to measure the current it draws.
If you discover that someone wired your dryer with a 2 pole 20 amp breaker, then make sure the wire itself is 10 AWG before replacing it with a 2 pole 30.
