20 Most Recent Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac: Mac Questions & Answers

most likely you have Office Mac 2008 home and student edition. You have 3 product keys provided with the install DVD. You will only know if the product key is already used when you use Office Mac in 2 Mac computers(used the same Product key) Error message will pop up saying that Microsoft Office is already in used. When you accidentally used same product key on both computers, the workaround for that is to remove the product key and use the product key that you think you haven't used yet.
To remove the product key:

] > Finder\~\Applications\Microsoft Office 2008\Office

* Remove OfficePID.plist

] > Finder\<username>\Library\Preferences\Microsoft\Office 2008

* Remove Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist

After removing the 2 files try launching an Office Application then it will prompt you to Improvement program. Just click continue then it will prompt you to enter the Product Key.

Hello,

Unfortunately, Fixya does not provide crack license keys as it is illegal. Using pirated softwares does not only take away the privilege for software updates, it is also punishable by law. You need to purchase.

Having the product key of a software application is essential when installing and activating the software on your computer. Product keys may also be called CD keys, serial numbers or activation codes. If, for some reason, you lose the product key, or it stops functioning, you must get a new product key from the creator of the software. Most software companies work with their customers in resolving product-key issues. For example, Microsoft advises its customers to contact Microsoft Support Services in the event that a product key becomes lost or damaged.

Go to the website for the software company. Look for a heading such as "Contact Us," "Customer Service" or "Support." Get the contact information for the company, such as an email address or telephone number. Some companies require that you contact them through a web-based form on the website. Contact the company by phone or email explaining that you have lost your product key or that it is no longer working. Include as much information as you can to help them verify that you are an authentic customer. Include copies of receipts you received (email or physical copies). If you have original packaging from the product, include any relevant bar-code or version numbers. Refer to the name and email address that you used to register the product.

That's actually a normal problem. You don't need to reinstall Office Mac 2008. What you need to do is to put the the Microsoft Word icon from your Desktop back to Applications Folder. To create a shortcut on your Desktop, go to Applications folder, Right Click(Ctrl+Click) on Microsoft Word then choose Make Alias. Just drag the Microsoft Word Alias to your Desktop. From Desktop you will have Word as a shorcut icon without any problem. If the issue will not be resolved then you need to uninstall then reinstall Office. Here's the steps:

] > Macintosh HD\Applications
* Remove Microsoft Office 2008
] > Macintosh HD\Users\<username>\Library\Application Support\Microsoft
* remove folder called Microsoft
] > Macintosh HD\Users\<username>\Library\Caches
* remove all Microsoft related files
] > Macintosh HD\Users\<username>\Library
* remove Microsoft Folder
] > Macintosh HD\Users\<username>\Library\Preferences
* remove all the (com.microsoft.[....].plist files)
] > Macintosh HD\Users\<username>\Library\Preferences
* remove Microsoft folder
] > Macintosh HD\Library\Receipts\Remove all Office 2008.pkg files
] > Delete Microsoft Office shortcuts from Dock
] > Restart
] > Install Office 2008
> Manual Install Updates

I hope this Helps! :)

1. Place cursor in each section in which you want hide the page number on the first page.
2. On the Insert menu, click Page Numbers.
3. Clear the "Show number on first page" check box.

You may have to create a separate section for your Table of Contents to suppress the page number on it.

You can get a demo off the Microsoft website. Some colleges are a part of a software alliance with Mircosoft and can get Mircosoft software free. Other than that it is impossible to get Word without breaking the law :(
