GE Profile Spacemaker Over-the-Range Microwave - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Microwave made noise when it was not in use.
It depends what was making the noise. a bad door switch could cause the turntable motor and the fan to fun. If is heating it may still be worth repairing. I would check the door switches. See if you notice any browning around the plastic insulators where the wires plug onto the switches. If so, you will need to replace bad switch and run new wires and connectors to the new switch too.

Microwave was working fine then there was a loud pop now there is no heat everything else works fine lights vent and display
There was a component failure in the magnetron circuit. The magnetron is the device which produces the microwaves that heat the food. There are extremely high (and dangerous) voltages associated with this part of your oven. As a result, components often fail and make noise because these components can burst rather violently. You should take it to a competent service tech. The components associated with the magnetron can often be replaced when they fail and it is not always expensive to have repaired.

My microwave oven start button is not working
The key pad is probably worn out or otherwise broken. Unfortunately, to replace the key pad/control board, if it's still in production, usually cost as much as purchasing a new unit. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Microwave wii not shut off unless you open the door and sometimes starta when you shut the door.
Sounds like one of the door switches is shorted. Check all three for proper operation with power off. WARNING: Microwaves contain lethal voltage levels can be more than 4000V, more then enough to kill you! BEFORE doing an work on them, unplug from power and discharge the capacitors. If you don't know what you're doing its better to leave it alone and get it professionally serviced.

My control panel has locked and I can't unlock it.
If this is a GE Spacemaker model, you can lock or unlock the controls of the oven by pressing and holding the CLEAR/OFF button for 3 to 5 seconds. If this is not a GE Spacemaker, please post back with your correct MODEL NUMBER. I hope this information helps you.
