DX-32L100A13 no video but you hear scanning and audio in background
I bought this model just a year ago, so it is still under warranty. The first 3 months it was used solely for video game system so no one knew there was any issue with the tv. Once it was moved to my room the problem surfaced. While watching a channel the screen began to go blank or black and there was no sound. After a while I began to notice that certain channels would not tune in. The screen would go blank while you could see the channel icon in the top right hand corner you could not use the remote. Once the channel icon disappeared you would either hear or not hear sound but the remote will then work so since the screen was blank I would change the channel up and back down most often it would find the channel and that was fine until it would go blank and no audio. I had it serviced for this reason and the fact that the cable connection in the back appeared to be loose, Dynex said that it was not supposed to be loose and needed to be replaced so while it was in being serviced I asked Geek Squad to look at the channel issue as well. They replaced the cable connection and said there was nothing else wrong. 3 months later I again brought it to geek squad and they told me that they checked it over and found nothing they would send it in if I wanted but if they again found nothing wrong I would be charged for it. Well I backed off.. 3 more months later I wrote to Dynex and in detail I went into the history of the TV. I love the sound and the video, when it is not being spastic, but it is becoming annoying to not be able to watch the tv through a show without this being an issue. They are more than helpful and shared how to walk through the factory reset procedure: We truly apologize for any inconvenience that this issue with the Television had caused you. My advise in this case will be to follow the next steps in order to reset the TV:1. Unplug it from the power source and allow it to remain unplugged for about 3 minutes.2. While your device is disconnected from the electricity, please unplug the wires from the back of the Television and the source device (for example a cable box, DVD player, game console) and switch the ends; then just plug them back in and make sure they are securely fastened.3. Then press and hold the POWER button for 60 seconds.4. Next, you may now plug the TV back in and turn it on.5. Now, with the remote control, go to Menu > Settings > Reset to Default. Unfortunately, this did not resolved the issue. They are walking me through and promise to replace the tv if they can not service a repair on this tv, so I am confident that I will have a working tv before the end of this month. If you are having a similar issue and the factory default settings procedure does not resolve the problem. Then contact Dynex they have great customer service personnel. Make certain you video or record on a cell phone the problem as it is happening. I got to be real good at reproducing my symptoms and recorded the problem a number of times to be certain they knew I can reproduce the problem since it is that easy to do. I didn't care that in the few second we were at geek squad and they could not reproduce the symptoms. The symptoms are present and very annoying and easy to reproduce if you take a little bit of time not a few seconds.. sorry I dont bite into this line of intimidation any more. The fact is, this problem is NOT in my mind, it is REAL and someone needs to address it. Take the recording to geek squad and show them. make sure you have a ticket number from dynex and follow through. to the end, which is what I am doing. I am disabled so my ability to make the hour trip to the closest geek squad is where I was delayed a couple of weeks. I know dynex wants to be certain I am a happy customer, regardless, that is the impression I have from dealing with this company so, dont be hesitant to reach out, this Company is willing to work with you. So many these days do not.. Kudos to Dynex!
