I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.
Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty
was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its
pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors
that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of
preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem.
TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or
slowly deteriorate.
Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00
Hope this Helps.
Good Luck
The television began losing audio off and on about
Hello,
the audio problem of your TV is from the sound IC. The sound IC is faulty and it needs to be replaced for your TV sound to come up again.
Concerning the pink picture/color, how long have you been using this TV? Why I am asking is because when a TV color begins to display pink, it means the TV is reaching the end of its life span. The TV tube is going bad, that's why its showing pink.
Secondly, the pink picture is a sign that there is a problem with the CRT. This is caused by failure of the green amp transistor on the TV panel. There is a
possibility that the CRT or the transistor of the TV is bad.
I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified repairman to help you diagnose the problem so that you would know what step to take next.
I wish you good luck.
