Orange light

Good Morning Raj, thank you for your post! Are you referring to the orange light on the freezer is not working or the freezer itself is not running? May I have the model number? The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located inside the cabinet, on the left side wall. With this information I can better address the issue at hand.

Door ajar light lit with door closed

Good Afternoon Don, thank you for allowing me to assist you! Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the red light will glow. First, deactivate the alarm to the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, the freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Of error code

Good Afternoon Jason, thank you for allowing me to assist you! Based on the symptoms you are describing it sounds like the temperature control is in the OFF position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small way. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.

I have a very noisy fridgidare upright freezer

Hi Lisa, thank you for your post! New freezers retain colder temperatures. Especially on hot humid days, moisture entering the freezer (when the door is opened) can form frost inside the appliance and moisture collection inside the unit. Reducing energy use to meet government requirements, defrost heaters have shorter run times. Light loads in the freezer also contribute to the problem. Here are some tips to keep moisture low in the freezer: Use your air conditioner to reduce humidity. Arrange shelving and food items so air circulates. Don't "overload" or leave the freezer empty. It should be at least half full. Set the controls as recommended in the use and care guide. Manufacturers may suggest different settings for summer and winter. Properly seal liquids and high moisture foods stored in the unit. Open the freezer doors as few times as possible. Clean condenser coils at least twice a year. Check your use and care manual for specific procedures. You'll save energy, too. Cover pots and pans and use the range hood fan when cooking to reduce moisture in the kitchen. Check and maintain door gaskets. A good door seal keeps warm moist air out of the freezer. These tips will help control frost and moisture in your freezer, but won't always eliminate the problem, especially when humidity is excessive. If you have taken all necessary steps to prevent moisture and humidity, you may need to reach out to a professional for further diagnosis. Hope this information helps resolve this issue.

Sides of upright freezer are very warm to the

Good Afternoon Chuck, thank you for your inquiry! From what you have described, it seems like you may be referring to the perimeter hot tube. It is normal to be warm to the touch; however, since it may feel hot to you, I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around the freezer. You can refer to your owner's guide for those specifications. If you do not have an owner's guide, you can download one at the manufacturer site. If the clearance is fine, you may need to clean the condenser coils. As part of routine maintenance, you can remove the toe grille (located at the foot of your refrigerator) by unsnapping the sides and lifting outward towards you. Now, using an extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush, remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath freezer. Cleaning condenser coils typically resolves this issue. But, if clearance is fine and the condenser coils are free from dust and you are still feeling too much exterior heat, you may need to check with a local service tech to determine what else could be causing this issue.

Hello Lori - First, make sure the freezer is plugged in and the plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet. Confirm that the temperature control is not set in the OFF position. Set temperature controls to proper setting or set to the halfway point and adjust it up or down as needed. Also there is a possibility that the timer may be in defrosting mode, therefore it will not run. Allow the defrost cycle to complete and the unit should resume to normal operations. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Best, Chris.

Problem I NEED TO REPLACE THE CONTROL BOARD DO I NEED TO TAKE THE DO APART

Hello Alan - Regrettably, this is not a simple DIY job. Generally, qualified technicians often perform these complicated part replacements. Usually this type of information is not released to a consumer and very rare to find enough information to do it yourself. If I was in your position, I would personally suggest contacting a professional to accurately assist with the repair or installation of the part.

What is total charge for up right freezer

Hello jharrislaye -If you are referring to approximately what the retail price is for this particular product, unfortunately base on the age of the unit, that information is very difficult to find. However, similar units manufacture nowadays is roughly about $700.00-$1,000.00. If you are speaking about a Freon charge, that would be base on the type of Freon the unit requires and on the actual service technician providing the service. You may locate information regarding the Freon on the serial tag, which is typically located inside the cabinet on the left side wall.

Temperature adjust frigidaire ffu2065fw2

Hello Ron Thacker - Often when the temperature is too cold, it is because the temperature control is set too cold/high. Turn the control to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize. If the unit does not stabilize within 24 hours, then it could possibly have a faulty thermostat or temperature control. I would personally reach out to an experienced tech that will be able to identify the precise reason.

Freezer not freezing

Hi b_sivado, When a stand alone freezer unit is having temperature issues there are not many troubleshooting steps you can try on your own before contacting a professional. These units are as electrical as refrigerators, however you can try to unplug the unit or turn the household circuit breaker off to it for about five minutes. Then retry the unit. Make sure nothing is blocking the air vents within the unit for proper air circulation. If you hear any abnormal noises contact your manufacturer or a service professional immediately. Often the compressor, evaporator fan or coil will begin to go out and cause temperature issues in a small amount of time. Please let me know if you find or try anything additional!
