DOES NOT HEAT UP

Unplug the unit from the wall and pull it out to access the back of the unit. Remove the back panel and look for a component that has two wires connected to it and looks like a disk with wings and mounting holes. The disk is about the size of a quarter and should be located by the blower which is your thermostat for the heater. Once you find it use an ohm meter to check for continuity, which should be shorted when the vent air is cool. If you do not have an ohm meter you can use electrical tape to tape one of the leads to the other to see if the dryer heats up. Do not run the dryer more than a couple of minutes, or it could start a fire. If it heats up order a new thermostat and replace it. If it is still cool, unplug the unit and look to see if you can find a high limit thermostat and test it the same way. If you cannot find a problem with the high limit thermostat the heating element will need to be tested with an ohm meter, or take it to an appliance shop to have them test the heating element.

If you are sure the fuses at the panel are both ok then check the thermal fuse on the air housing under the front panel. check that the vent is clear before replacing.

Hi,

There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...

Chemical like smell while clothes are drying

If you have recently painted or varnished something then just air out the house. The fumes can react w/ the heat of the dryer to create this smell. It smells different than the actual fumes, but still like some sort of solvent.

Change has gotten in the

Take the top off the dryer and remove (or loosen) the screws that hold the paddles in the drum
The change will slide out of the paddles inside the drum as you revolve the tub.

first check and make sure the power breaker is on. next the door when it closes there is a safety switch normaly there is a small hole around the frame of the door. when you push on it, you shoud hear a clicking noise. if you don"t, that switch will prevent the tumbler from turning another thing is the belt that goes around the tumbler if it's loose or broken the tumbler will not turn. that can be checked by accessing the bottom panel in the back the belt should be tight. good luck!

When it rotates it gives metal banging sound what

Hi,

Make sure dryer is level on the floor, and that nothing is leaning against the dryer.
Make sure nothing is loose inside the drum. Check all exposed screws, and make sure they are tight.

Check for foreign objects in the drum. (Coins, buttons and zippers will make a rattling sound as they roll around in the drum)

No heat in dryer

Check the wiring first. If that looks ok unplug dryer from wall then remove the heating element and test it for continuity. If it is wide open then it is bad.

No electricial input, ON nor OFF on the dryer.

Do you have a volt meter? Make sure the cord is correctly connected. Center wire to center terminal on a three wire cord, red and black on outside and white in the middle on a four wire cord with green to case ground.
