If your DC21 Motorhead doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, you may need to wash the lifetime pre-filter. In normal use this should be washed at least once every 3-6 months using cold water without detergent. Allow at least 12 hours for both parts of the filter to dry completely before replacing them in your machine.

When you have purchased the vaccum cleaner. how did you get the set. Can you you tell by which manner did u purchased it. But yes we can dismandle the vaccum Cleaner.by the manual which given to you when you have purchased.
Just had this with mine and I think it is the power wires embedded in the hose from the cleaner to the powerhead. Turn the cleaner on then work your way along the hose kinking it or moving it until the power head stops. Switch the power head on again and kink the hose in the same place, if it turns off every time like mine, that is where the break is. I haven't worked out if the cable cores can be replaced or repaired yet. Hope this helps. Chris.
Check the hoses for clogs and obstructions. It doesn't happen very often, but if you have lost suction, try pushing a broomstick gently through the hoses to dislodge any larger clumps of debris that are stuck. A hook made from bent coat hanger wire can also be used to pull out or loosen clogs. * Be careful not to pack clogs in even more tightly. * Handle a coat hanger wire carefully, or it could puncture the hose.
Some vacuum cleaners have a device that stops the machine if it overheats. If your vacuum cleaner cuts out, unplug it, check your manual and wait for a period of time (perhaps 20 or 30 minutes). Then, check for obstructions or other problems, and carefully turn it on again.
You say the floor tool keeps shutting off. The key question is: what do you have to do to get it going again? There are electrical connections at both ends of the hose, and poor contact there can cause the tool to work intermittently - in which case you will find that just moving the hose will cause the tool to switch on and off. You can't do much about these connections other than have a look to see if they appear damaged. Make sure the hose is fully attached at both ends. If this doesn't help, please post again giving more details.

Where did you order the 'Genuine Part' from. It sounds like a Genuine copy made in China like the brush that was sent to me. Genuine parts only come from Dyson direct. Mine came from Amazon.

If the vacuum cleaner's airways become blocked, the device will automatically shut off to prevent damage. Check for blockage at the power head. It probably runs when not flat because it can suck air past the blockage.
If the vacuum's filter is full of debris, the vacuum may lose suction, causing the device to turn off automatically...which I doubt in your case.
Be cautious removing the blockage for sharp objects.
