Some
keys rubber not work
Check the rubber contact pads below and swap with working ones for a test. replace if necessary. If the faulty ones are in a patten, replace MKS board attached below the keys unit. some old models d require CPU replacement. Whats your model?
Playing keyboard and the polyphony is suddenly
Inspect the devices sound producing effect buttons. For example, ascertain the volume button was manupulate accidentally durng ketboarding. Readjust the volume to attain desireable effects. Inspect the connection cables for maladjustments causes. Reconnect any unpluged cables making sure firmly in place to achieve louder sound. Usually sound cards least get damaged during device functionality. The noteble malfcuntions with sound cards are fluid encounters on the cirucits during usage that causes burnouts due the cuicuirt generation of heat or embeded at the heating area of the device. Sound cards may malfunction either caused by impacts maladjust the situation on the circit board. Also soundb cards malfucnion either as impact damaged where the device were droped or encounter collsion with another device causing scraches or breakage. The condition of damages sound card may require to replace entirely to new acquirable.

If no sound from the phones with the volume control up, the unit MAY have lost settings due to depleted memory battery.

Psr-60 serial no 008012
Yamaha PSR 60. Power light comes on but no sound from any of the keys or anything else. Can anyone advise

I have the same problem.The rubber panel that is used for touch
sensitivity (under the keys) inside the case wears down in time. You can
split it and shift parts but you eventually will have to replace it.
This rubber panel is very hard to get. Good luck.
Got smoke from inside keyboard and diskette, hard
Any electronic device that has smoke coming from it is not a good sign. Whether it can be repaired is debateable (it depends if parts are available and costs). Usually in cases such as this it needs a new circuit board and possible other associated components/devices. I suggest the best solution is to purchase a new Yamaha keyboard as a new model would have new and better features.
I have a Yamaha PSR-170 that has a jammed key
Most keyboards of that scale are not especially fragile. You may have to remove the back (lots of screws) and maybe a bezel that is across the top of the keys to get full access to the keys. The good thing is you have lots of working models --- all the other keys. So carefully consider the differences. It may be that one or more plastic parts have broken, particularly if it fell and landed with pressure on that key.
Most of the keyboard manufacturers have parts departments that can supply just the part of the keyboard you need if you can specify exactly what you want.

sometimes with portable keyboards the circuits get overloaded with *** and it mucks it all up just replace it/die
