How can I open a backup copy of my quickbooks

Open QuickBooks. Go to "file" at the top right side of the page. Slide down to"open or restore company" and click on it. You will get a pop up box that says "what type of file to you want to open or restore?". Mark the box in the second choice that says "restore a back up copy". Then click "next" at the bottom left side of the box and it will take you to a screen that says "is the backup copy stored locally or online?". Unless you are using online back up service for a fee, your only choice is to mark the first box that says "local backup". Click on this box and then choose "next " on the bottom left side of the screen. Now you need to locate the back up copy that you wish to open. Click on the location of the file and choose "open" on the bottom right side of the screen. From that point you follow the prompts until the file opens. Opening a back up copy will not affect your current company file.

  2. Right-click the drive that you want to install the Windows Installer package to, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. On the Security tab, do the following:
    • If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000, verify that the Name box contains the SYSTEM user account.
    • If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, verify that the Group or user names box contains the SYSTEM user account.
If the SYSTEM user account does not appear in the box, follow these steps to add the SYSTEM account to the box:

    2. In the Name field, click SYSTEM, and then click Add.
    3. Click OK.

How can I change the way the date prints on

You can change the way that the date prints by going into your general preferences in QuickBooks and choosing the format that best suites you. To do this open QuickBooks and then choose "edit" at the top left side of the page. When you click on "edit" it will give you a drop down list of choices. Go to "preferences" and click on it. From there you will see a list of choices on your left. Find the one that says "general" and click on it. This will open up two choices. One is User preferences and the other is company preferences. Open Company preferences and choose the date format that best suites you. Then close and save your choices.

Quickbooks 2010 will not load. The window opens

This often indicates a damaged .net framework in windows. Repair the .net, if you have the QB cd, there is a file called .netfix, or download the .net 3.5.1 from microsoft.com, and run the install. It should see the existing .net and ask if you want to repair it.
