ION Audio TAPE2PCA Single Dual Cassette Deck Questions & Answers
Recording finishes after 60 sec
These are not serious tape decks but you may have a software setting wrong as well. I don't have one nor do I suggest buying these.

My Ion Audio TAPE2PC Dual
Hello! This product has a very poor track record. It has a high failure rating. With that said, this particular fault might be repairable.
How long has the unit been operating trouble free? When you say it often converts in duplicate; Are there times it operates trouble free?
If so, it may be a connection fault rather than an internal failure. Please tell me how you have it connected.

Cassette tape broke.
Try shopping around the net for "Splicing Tape". They kits were common at one time, somebody might still have them.

Tape2PC USB "not recognized"
I had the same problem a few days ago (April 5 2009). The problem
turned out to be a dodgy USB socket on the back of the Tape2PC. There
was a bent & broken pin in the USB socket.
Perhaps you have a similar problem with the USB port - have a close look at it in good light.
I
took the the cover off the tape2pc (6 screws), and then removed the
small circuit board containing the USB socket (2 screws). The part
number on this board is 0038-2410-0000. This small board is connected
to the main circuit board on the base of the box by a short cable. You
just unplug this cable from the USB port board, cut a cable tie, and
replace the USB port board. It is a very simple and quick job - it took
no more than 10 minutes and only requires a small Philipps head (+)
screw driver.
I don't know where you live, but I phoned the UK distributor for Ion and received a replacement board within 2 days.
The PC now recognizes the tape2pc again but I can't get any volume when I try to record my cassettes. Any suggestions with this?

My turntable appears to be uneven. it looks like a rolling hill when spinning, can this be fixed
Is it just the matt that records sit on that's the problem or the whole platter?
If it is the matt you can peel it off and get a new one from somewhere such as as Amazon. It doesn't have to be the same brand as the turntable as long as it fits on.
Just search for "turntable matt".
If the platter is the problem it might be caused if the platter is plastic by either a chemical or heat warping the platter. Has it been exposed to the sun for example? Some chemicals such as oil and polish can cause it to bend out of shape.
It's likely if the platter has warped that it will need to be replaced.
