I just received my ps3 yesterday from the extended warranty company. When I turn on the ps3 it says error 80010201. But when I go to internet connection test it signs me out even though I'm not signed in. I called sony and they said I should send it in. My dad says wait because he read that alot of people have been having this problem and it goes away in a few days. The ethernet cable is in perfect shape. If I were to send it in I would send to the warranty company anyway.
I have solved this issue. it turns out my update got interrupted when i was attempting to fix the Hard drive. new update fixed the problem and everything works awsome now.

My PS3 won't play a recently purchased blue ray disc. I am not very savvy at this type of thing and would like some help. It tells me to renew the encryption key. How do I do this and do I need to be connected to the internet in order to accomplish this. I do not play video game online and have never connected my PS3 to the internet. I just want to watch my movie. please help.
Play Stations are not BLURAY players .

I can connect to the Internet via my ps3 and pc but i can't connect to the PSN. My router and modem are fine. I just got fifa 09 yesterday and just when i get the hang of playing online I got the error! PLEASE HELP!!!
Go to your Internet Connection Settings, then Disable the Media Server thing and it should work, hopefully. I did it and I think it's working now, because I'm downloading the new 2.76 Update.

Ok, I have an LG 32" 1080p tv. It has a PS3 hooked up to it through an HDMI cable, the PS3 is set to 1080p and it looks like i have static on the television, this only happens when the PS3 is sending out a 1080p signal, when i change it to 1080i the static goes away. The static also goes away once you put a movie in as well. The static looks like when your cable signal is bad on your tv, not completely static, but some. I have tried 3 different HDMI cables, and all did the same thing except the $100 monster cable my friend let me use, and I really don't feel like spending that kind of money, does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
It sounds like you're carrying interference to your TV. Try moving you station away from any power source. Make sure your hdmi cable is away from any power as well. This may also be a ground issue. Plug your ps3 power brick into a different outlet.

i got a ps3 and when i try to go online on it it comes up with DNS error 80710104 / DNS error 80710102 i use a ethernet cord - i dont have a wireless modem, the cord running from my modem router to the ps3 is working - it isnt broken, i am getting internnet on my computer.... can u guys help me plz

an error occured during delete operation (80030001) ??? can you tell me what this means, i cant delete it. the game is call of duty black ops.

When starting up PS3 it beeps to try and power up but never gets going then after around 30 seconds it beeps and shuts down automatically. The controllers flashes throughout but is never recognised.
Put your PS3 in Standby Mode. The first thing your going to want to know is your model number. It can be found on the back panel of the PS3 on the serial number label, and it will begin with CECH. Example - Serial: XXXXXXXXXXXX-CECHXXX -
For models: CECHA01, BO1, E01, E01MG, G01, H01, H01MG, K01, LO1, AND P01, it will have a power switch on the back. Flip it off then back on and you will have a solid red indicator light on the front.
For models: CECH-2001A and 2001B, press the power button on the front until the indicator light turns red. If all else fails unplug the power cord and plug it back
Time to enter Safe Mode. Press and hold your finger over the power button on the front until you hear three beeps and the indicator light goes back to red. Then release the button. (The second you touch it you will hear a beep, that's the first beep. Five seconds later a second beep, another five seconds the third and final beep will sound then the indicator light will return to red.)
Press and hold your finger over the power button again until you hear a quick double beep. The release the button. (The second you touch it you will hear a beep, that's the first beep. Five seconds later a second beep, another five seconds you will hear the double beep.)
You will then see this screen. "Connect the controller with the USB cable, then press the PS button".
Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the front of your PS3 and the top of your game controller, (between the left and right bumpers). Then Press the PS button in the center of the controller.
You will then see this screen. -REMINDER: -BY DOING THE FOLLOWING ALL OF YOUR DATA ON YOUR PS3 WILL BE LOST, YOUR ONLINE STATS ARE ON THE NETWORK SO YOU WILL GET THAT STUFF BACK, INCLUDING GAMES AND ADDONS YOU BOUGHT FROM THE PSN.-
Select option number 5. (Restore PS3 System). Then select yes to perform step. You will then see this screen. "The hard disk's file system is corrupt and will be restored.
The PS3 will then restart. You will see many different languages, all that is is saying is, "Connect the controller with the USB cable, then press the PS button". Press the PS button and set your settings when it finishes it will start up and its fixed!

netflix on playstation 3 wont let me sign in. It says invalid email or password. I know it is correct user id and password

Ok i downloaded the new and improved Ps3 YouTube app on my Ps3. So when I do into sign on for my YouTube account it gives me this code that i have to go to youtube.com/activate to activate my account. I do this and go back to the app and try to sign into my YouTube account and it just gives me another code. I dont know what to do or if im missing anything in between but i would really like to resolve this problem.
