it can be fixed yes. can you do it... i don't know. can you solder? if so then you most likely will be able to. but that is not the hard part you will find a potentiometer (bass knob) from like digi key. you will need to get the part number off it and go to their web site and cross it. digikey.com if you have trouble call them and talk to a tech and they will get you the correct one.

the bass nob must have worn out, that's why it cannot stay firm when you press it in.

Get something tiny like a pin, press the bass knob in, and at the same time fix in the tiny object by the side of the knob, to hold the bass knob firm, so that it will not pop out when you let go off it.

Yes of course you can...however, it may be less expensive to just buy a replacement.  And find out what caused the first amp to fail.

There are 3 possible conditions a HiFonics amplifier will go into protection -

Ground Loop - Blown or damaged speaker causing damaged Output FET.

Power Supply Failure - Blown Capacitors, Damaged FETs, Faulty Relays.

Thermal Shutdown - Excess Heat.

Mono channel amplifiers are the simplest to work on - and I would Estimate a repair cost of $75USD if it is a simple FET replacement.

Look at one hour of labor plus parts.

you could bridge the speaker wires going to the amp to get maximum power out of the amp to the subs

is the sub dual or single?check sub first then try disconnecting all power including ground for 20min to discarge caps some amps mute if driven hard at low impedience .

It's likely that the amplifier has shorted output transistors. If that's the case, they will have to be replaced. If you have zero experience with electronic repair, you should pay someone to repair it instead of trying to repair it yourself.

have you checked Radio Shack? they have a lot of cicuit board stuff for soldering

the red light blinking because your amplifaier its dead look for the alimentation cabel end replace the calibration protector
