Imperial 40 ignites but does not extend flames into heating tubes. Burns only fron

It sounds like your gas line either is clogged or your heating tubes are clogged up with oil/dirt/gunk? You can blow these out with a small hand held compressor or if you have a small enough brush, you can use that to clean it. The compressor is the quickest way, but have you cleaned this unit at all? Using a fryer boil out and running the fryer will also help clean out your holes, but again, the compressor works best.

Deep fryer wll not ligth

Frequently customers do not hold the pilot "lite" button down long enough for the fryer to light. We normally instruct them to hold the pilot lite button in for some time, then light it, and after it lights, turn thermostat back to your regular setting. People get alarmed that they have to hold the button in as long as they do, but that is what it takes to light these units up, so hold it in longer, then light. Once we give these instructions, they normally do not call back in, and manage to light it ok Good luck to you, Susan REO

My Fryer Gives off a lot of Soot

Sounds like you may have the thermostat turned way too high.... If you don't, check to make sure it's working correctly, like is the temperature reading correct? Is your flue all junked up with build up and crud? If so, you will need to clean it out.... You can scrap it out with a dough scraper or anything else that works for you...Also, you might check your gas connections, or have your gas co check them, and see if there are any issues with the gas connection and the amount of gas coming into your fryer. Hope this helps you.SusanREO

Are you talking about the actual burners? They make a L shaped brush that you can use to get around the burners themselves, and a quick tip is to clean the fryer warm.... Once you heat up a griddle or fryer, the cleaning gets substantially easier. They also make either liquid or dry powder cleaning additives, which also help with the cleaning... Once cleaned, make sure you rinse all the soap residue out of the frypot, as that will help to quickly break down your oil, once that new oil is heated up. Another tip is to ony turn the temperature up to 325, not 350, as that also helps to break down your oil. Keep in mind, no matter what yu do, your fryer will never look clean again.... Even the clean, used ones look alittle used after some use and never look shiny new again. If you need any of the cleaning solutions, I do sell them and would be happy to ship some to you... Our individual packets of liquid Mr. Muscle cleaning solutions run $1.95 each and for a 30-40 lb fryer, you need two per cleaning. The directions says to drain oil out and rinse to clean out loose soils, fill w/'water to oil fill line, and get water boiling. You add the Mr. Muscle while filling w/water.... Boil at about 225 temperature for 10-30 minutes. (225 degrees keeps it from boiling over). While it's boiling, gently use a fryer brush or scraper to remove baked on soils. You can also buy the powder version, which is $11.95 for a 9lb jug... Fryer brushes are $24.95 and can withstand alittle of the high heat.... I stock all of these items and can ship to you, if desired. Try this anyway, whereever you end up buying your products and this should work for you...This is how we clean the dirty deep fryers we get in and we've never had any trouble. Our phone number is 888-542-5959, and we are Restaurant Equipment Outlet, Cincinnati, Ohio. We sell new/used equipment, furniture, smallwares, just about anything you need for a food service business. Thanks, Susan

Have had the imperial fryer for about 6 years.

I am an equipment dealer, and have sold fryers from many different manufacturers since 1988, and I can tell you when you have a leak in the frypot, almost always customers end up dumping them... To replace the frypot, which is not in warranty any longer, is costly and labor intensive. When you think about investing 5 or 6 hundred dollars in fixing this unit, and the new fryers run approx $750, it's a no brainer....What you may be able to do is give the fryer to a dealer that sells used restaurant equipment and buy your new one from the same person. As part of your deal, ask for some money off, like a credit, and the dealer gets the used one that's leaking and you might get something like free freight or a store credit for an agreed amount of money....You just cannot re-weld those leaks and by the time you pay for the freight to bring in your new pot, pay the labor and pay for the pot, you could have come close to paying for a new fryer...But, your dealer might be interested in replacing the pot and then selling the unit himself... That's what I would do anyway..
Thanks, Susan
