Switched to Qwest high speed

First, open control panel and click on "Add Remove Programs". Then remove all anti-virus software that was provided by Qwest. You cannot have more than one anti-virus program loaded on your PC - they will conflict and can cause problems if you do.

You can now install Norton from the CD and use yur existing product key. I don't know what your license terms are with Symantec - you may have to pay something to use the software on another computer.

I have been having nothhing but problems since

Not your average virus, this malware injects code in legitimate files similar to the Virut virus and in many cases the infected files cannot be disinfected properly by your anti-virus. When disinfection is attempted, the files often become corrupted and the system may become unstable or irreparable. The longer Ramnit.A remains on a computer, the more files it infects and corrupts so the degree of infection can vary.

Ramnit is commonly spread via a flash drive (usb, pen, thumb, jump) infection where it copies Worm:Win32/Ramnit.A with a random file name. The infection is often contracted by visiting remote, crack and keygen sites. These type of sites are infested with a sm?rg?sbord of malware and a major source of system infection.

The general consensus is that Ramnit.A cannot be effectively disinfected, so your best option is to perform a full reformat as there is no guarantee this infection can be completely removed. In most instances it may have caused so much damage to your system files that it cannot be completely cleaned or repaired. In many cases the infected files cannot be deleted and anti-malware scanners cannot disinfect them properly. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of malware, the best course of action is to wipe the drive clean, reformat and reinstall the OS.

Sadly, this means that even trying to back up still accessible files brings with it the risk of reinfecting a new installation and also obviates the further use of any infected removable media.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. Good luck axle

Run the following symantec tool to remove old download manager entries:

I had this problem as well as I used a Norton product before I switched to McAfee because of Comcast. The install worked for me after this simple tool cleaned the Norton Download Manager registry entries.

I have my key and

Norton 360 is very user unfriendly. You may have to call the 800 number or do a live chat to get Norton 360 reinstalled correctly. This is what happened to a friend of mine. It took hours. Alternatively, go to www.filehippo.com and download Avast; it is as good or better at securing your PC. After installing it, Avast gives you the option of registering the product as a free version for a year. Next year, you will probably be able to re-register it free for another year. Avast works very well with Windows Firewall and protects me when I do dangerous things on the Internet.

Virus is my problem

Here is some steps to try and remove the virus.

(1) Boot your PC up into "safe mode with networking"
(2) Go to www.download.cnet.com
(3) Do a search for the following programs and download them I usually save them to a folder on the C drive: CleanUp, Malwarebytes, Spybot - Search & Destroy.
(4) Install and run CleanUp. This will remove most if not all of your temp files on the PC. This will ask you to log off once its done. Log off then back on.
(5) Install and run Malwarebytes. Make sure to do the update on it. This program will take anywhere from an hour to two hours to run depending on the size of your hard drive. Remove the selected infections.
(6) Install and run Spybot - Seach & Destroy. This you will also want to make sure it is updated and it will take about an hour and half to run.
(7) Now you will try to update your Norton and run a scan.

You should now be clean of virus's and malware. If your still having problems you can also download SuperAntiSpyware and Avast Anti-Virus from the website above. The Avast Anti Virus doesnt play to well with Norton so you will more then likely need to remove Norton. Avast Anti Virus is free for 30 days and registering it for one year is free also. There is also a paid version, but if you have Norton and like it you can just uninstall Avast after your system is clean and re-install Norton.

Best of Luck

I need to reinstall,

Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove programs>Remove When the removal process completes, It may be display/asked to restart the computer. There go ahead and restart/reboot at that time.
Now insert the Norton installation CD/DVD into your CD/DVD ROM Drive. The CD/DVD automatically run or launch the installation wizard. But if you downloaded Norton AntiVirus from the Symantec website, double click the installation file and run to begin the installation wizard.Click "Install Options" and click "Browse" if you want to change the default installation location. Click "OK" after making the selection. Make sure that you should complete the download by clicking "next" or follow the instruction to install until it's complete the reinstallation.
All the Best!
