It sounds like the message indicates that the disk you are installing TO needs to be formatted, not the disk you are installing FROM!

Have you gone to start>settings/control panel>Printers and faxes. Make sure that the officejet 6500 is ready and also listed as the default. Now when you print from quickbooks and the print setup page comes up what printer does it have listed in the top pull down box of that window. Most likely the wrong printer is selected in the program. Once I have more information I can assist you further if need be.
thank you,

The answer is, if your version of QuickBooks Pro is legitimate, you can contact QuickBooks support and get a replacement key within 5 minutes. Of course, it is legit, I'm sure.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

You will need to call Quickbooks customer service and they will re-activate the licnese for you. They do this so that it will keep the license safe from pirating or stealing.

Why is this happening This issue can occur as a result of uninstalling the Google Desktop installed by Quickbooks on a computer running Microsoft Windows Vista. Launching QuickBooks after uninstalling Google will cause the error message.

Note: This issue is also known to occur with computers that have been upgraded from Windows XP to Windows Vista, where Google Desktop was uninstalled under Windows XP. Both cases would yield the same error message.
How to fix the problem This issue was resolved in the latest release for your version of QuickBooks.
Detailed Instructions Please update your program to the most current release.

Issue appears to be related to IE8 and an Active X security issue.
One solution is to un-install Qbooks, update your runtime -- you'll find it here:
Then re-install Qbooks.
You may not need to go to this extreme as you can try just installing the runtime upgrade which may resolve the problem.
Another suggestion is to open up 'security' for IE8 and lower the security settings...although this resolution may have a downside...

I would enter a bill for the $6.00. When you paid the original bill and added $6.00, QB simply thought you were overpaying and is probably carrying a $6 credit as a prepay.

It seems that you are not able to run activex control because of high security settings on internet explorer.

open internet explorer, go to tools and then click on internet options.
Go to security and change the setting to medium or low which should allow the activex to download

The files are set to read only on the CD. If you would like to open them, please copy / paste the files to your PC and open them from there.

To rectify this in the future, please set the file permissions on the files before you burn them, and remoce the Read Only attribute.

once you install intuit on your new pc or new harddrive open the program. insert the dvd disc. go to wherever you open files. select the drive with the dvd instead of the C drive. you should see the files. click on one and the program should open it. the program doesn't care if the files are on the C drive, D drive or U drive. it just needs a file with the right format and file extension.

Intuit... | Answered on Jun 23, 2009

I'm sorry but this cannot be done in Quickbooks; once you open one company file, the current one is closed.
