Sub-Zero 700 Refrigerator Freezer Drawer-700 Sub-Zero Questions & Answers
Water is leaking out from the fridge floor onto the ground.
The drain pan in the back evaporates from the heat of the compressor. The freezer drain drains into this pan. If there is water under the bins it sounds like the drain is partially clogged and over flowing into the refrig section. But I need more info, like model , brand.
Sub Zero 700 suddenly stops after 12 years. Compresser is burning hot.
The compressor will normally be 100 to 110 degrees. I would suspect the thermostat or mouse damage in the freezer area. Also, if you keep it overstocked, to the point of poor air circulation, you could just have ice blockage. Put the frozen food in a styrofoam cooler or a good heavy corrugated box and give the unit a good full defrosting.
Water on floor
The hose that goes into the drip pan to defrost the refer is plugged with stuff. take the back off and see the hose connection.A coat hanger works well.Usually a 1/4" hose. Also see where the bottom of the freezer drains into the drip pan. That may be plugged, also. The temp may be set too low and the condenser is frozen up,leaking water into the floor.Just ice stuck to the condenser. Possible that the condenser FAN stopped turning. That will ice up and melt at random: see/hear that the fan is working. If stuff gets into the fan,it will ice up,melt and make a mess on the floor.
Convert r-12 to r134a
if the compressor is r12 and want to use it with 134a you need to change the oil in the compressor before you do the change, and while you change if make sure that he 1st 50oz of gas you charge it with the compressor off. its recommended r12 because it works better at high temperature.

Sub zero freezer - 501 f
It is likely the condenser fan is not functioning. You may need to open
the compressor access panel to check. If you can hear the compressor
running, and the condenser feels warm, the fan should be running. If it
isn't, it probably needs to be replaced. Another symptom is the area around the doors feels warm.

I have a Sub-Zero 501 F upright freezer. I have
sounds like the mullion heater (drain tube heater is open). take back off (after removing all shelves, including the glass tray (remove 4 screws). Pull back out, careful not to pull wires off T'stat. Run the new wires on heater behind evaperator, placing heater down in drain hole. Good LuckJoe

Freezer coil inside freezer box
There are three parts to all defrost systems. 1. Defrost Heater2. Defrost Timer3. Defrost ThermostatWithout a model number I could not look up a diagram or part numbers. I very seldom see a bad heating element. Most common is a bad defrost timer, second most common is the defrost thermostat.

Freezer not getting below )
The condenser is the 'radiator' located under the unit near the compressor. If it's clogged it will cause this. Make sure, also, that the fan at the condenser is operating.
If you've not yet cleaned the condenser, do so with a vacuum both sucking, and then blowing, to clean it well. BE READY FOR A DUSTY MESS!!

Freezer door "locks" or is
This is normal. Freezers have a vent port to let high moisture out. When you open the door moisture laden air enters. When the door is closed the hot air from outside expands and leaves through the vent port. This creates a vacuum in the freezer that lasts a few minutes. No problem
