Why is it not running? Motor defective? Receiving power? Device that switches power to motor working? You have to localize the issue before shopping for parts.

there should be a pin hole at the top of the unit by the lights and power button. you will need like a sewing needle to put in there. hold for about 5 seconds and the unit will reset. if that doesn't work. you need to turn off the unit unplug it for about 10 seconds and plug back in. if that doesn't work please let me know.

there should be a tiny in hole at the top of the unit. when the unit is on put a pin inside that hole and hold it for about 5 seconds. then release the unit's lights will all come back on and then it should be reset as if you just turned the unit on. if that doesn't work please let me know and i will see what else i can do for you.

the sparking of the purifier by the plug is NOT good. it can be a fire hazard. there is a short within the switch. the best thing is to make sure that your under warranty and then call the manufacturer to get a replacement.

I do apologize for the inconvenience, the best way that i can tell you to fix the light is that there is a tiny pin hole on top of the unit. that's a reset button. you need a small needle or something that will fit in there. hold it down for about 3 seconds. your unit should reset. the light sometimes comes on with new filters cause it hasn't recognized that they are new yet. if that reset doens't work please let me know

the lights are the ionizer light, the filter indicator light which is the light that will come on when the filters need to be changed, ionizer control button, the speed control and the power light.

Sounds like it needs a good cleaning. Does this one have the metal bars that pull out? I have a ionic pro and when it gets dirty it will emit small sparks where the dust connects from one bar to the other. It also has a pull up wand that cleans the wire that help build the charge. If this is the system that changes the charge on the ions to attract them to plates, you will see small sparks when it becomes dirty. Mine always let me know by the sparking sounds it makes.

Noggin's solution is correct.  My copy of the BAP825 manual says to poke a paper clip into "the hole marked RESET."  There is no hole marked 'reset' on the air cleaner.  Thanks, Noggin!

These units usually put out ozone into the air in your home which is a known lung irritant. Sometimes they will call it an ionizer or something like that. If you truly have indoor air quality issues the only way to properly attack it is through three steps
source control - what's causing it(uv lights to kill it usually)
ventilation - bring in fresh outdoor air and exhaust stale indoor air(ERVs and HRVs depending on your climate some dealers won't sell these if they don't offer it to you they are dumb find someone who does they are Recovery Ventilators)
filtration - a whole home filtration system (look to dealers who carry Lennox who is the only company with a 100% ozone free product line and the highest filtration rates available on the market "MERV 16" filters or Trane is ok as well as Carrier systems)
You can look up the Lennox Merv 16 filter it was rated #1 in Consumer Reports december 2007 as the best whole home air filter above the trane clean effects and others. can be bought and installed for around 400 bucks to 1000 dependeing on how hard it is and ask about the pure air system if you want higher levels.
