Sounds like slow Freon leak. You might get an estimate over the phone before calling a technician, but I would think a 3-year old box is worth repairing. If the estimate is close to the replacement cost, that might not be the case.

Feel compressor to see if running and warm. If not, most likely thermostat control is bad. If it is running, determine if it runs continuously or if it's clicking on and off every couple minutes. If clicking on and off, replace overload and relay that plugs into side of compressor. If running continuously, there is probably a freon leak on blockage. Replace freezer in latter scenario

First your freezer does not use R-134a. That is for auto air conditioners only. It uses R-12. You need refrigeration compound gauges, R-12 refrigerant and a two devices that connects to and punctures the lines and gives you a port to connect the hoses from the refrigeration compound gauges. You must have a refrigeration leak if you need to add refrigerant. The leak needs to be repaired or you will lose the refrigerant in a short time again.

No check your settings. You may try to unplug it for about a minute and then restart. If that doesn't work, call the mfr. they should help since it is new.

Could be your thermostat is bad and not calling for the compressor to come on. If you are able see if there is power getting to the compressor. If not then back track to where you are loosing power (thermostat) etc.

With the time as the compressor gets old the buzzing will increased, its not a bid deal, just set the thermostat to 1 during the winter, saves you energy and give the compressor more time to rest.

According to the manual for that model, this is normal. It says "bubbling or gurgling noises" which indicate that the refrigerant is moving about the lines to cool the unit.

Check your outlet with something else that will work, like a radio. If the green light does not come on, then check the wiring. The green light should be on even if the freezer has reached it's temperature. That is simply a light to indicate that power is at the receptacle.

if it just hums or buzzez you will need to check the start capacitor on the compressor if it is stuffed you need to buy around 15uf---25uf cap @400volts depending on the size of the motor

Check condensor not clogged up, fan working etc. If all ok, try new capacitor and relay. If all else fails, replace freezer (compressor replacement is costly)

All I can offer for advice is to ask if it is on an extension cord. Is the freezer plug in good shape and not blistered? Make sure that the cord is a heavy enough gauge to carry the current needed to run the compressor. An extension cord can break down over time and cause the compressor to overheat or fail. You can't fix a leak yourself, you need a technician. Are you sure it is a leak, not the compressor not running? try it on fast freeze and take a view on calling out an expert. It is usually cheaper to get a new freezer.

It is short of refrigerant. Needs leak repair, vacuum and new gas. Or new freezer!

Well a freezer is easy to repair. The circuit goes from one side of the power cord to the cold control and down to the compressor then out to the other side of the power cord. Id the control or compressor relay is open then she won't freeze. All the parts to it are listed HERE.From the list I see an overload for the compressor. If that one is open it won't freeze. I'd let it dry out totally then try it again, some of the electronics may have gotten wet when you defrosted it. Give it a week somewhere warm and dry like a garage. If you didn't attack built up ice in the freezer with a knife while defrosting it it should work after it dries out. Most people end up killing freezers by accidently poking holes in the evap coil while trying to remove built up ice.

you are trying my freind when the switch is opened it shows a reading of infinity which is normal what is it reading when its closed on the old and the new? Thanks I await your reply Rick
