Loss suction
Hi Lynn,I'm sorry to hear your DC24 isn't picking up as well as it should be. This is likely to be due to a blockage, and the filters may also need a wash. The easiest way to check for blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24/dc24-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/check-suctionIn normal use, DC24's filters need to be washed at least once a month as shown in the video attached. Use cold water without detergent, and allow the filters to dry completely for at least 24 hours before replacing them.I'm confident this will help, but if you would like any further advice you can reach our experts directly by calling the Dyson customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US). The brush will not turn
Hi Richard,DC24's brush bar is engineered to shut itself off to prevent damage if something jams it. Once you've checked the checked the cleaner head for obstructions and removed any threads or hair from around the brush bar, you can reset the machine as shown in the video attached.
Tip: It can help to use something like the eraser-end of a pencil to push the reset button. When pushed correctly you should feel a click.
Please note: The brush bar will never rotate when DC24 is standing upright, so make sure you recline the machine into the normal vacuuming position before testing it.I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like any further advice from our experts you can reach us directly by calling the Dyson customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Support

Does it have drive belt
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.DC24 doesn't use a traditional, replaceable drive belt. The belt is engineered to last the lifetime of the machine, protected my a mechanism which shuts off the brush bar if something jams it.If your brush bar is not rotating, it's likely your machine will just need resetting. Please follow the steps shown in the video attached to do this. We'd recommend using something like the eraser-end of a pencil to press the reset button - you should feel a 'click' when pressed correctly. Dyson DC28 handle stuck
You DO NOT have to take your machine to a "certified technician" to fix this problem. Stand behind your machine, lean over and look at the front: Right in the center of the opening between the machine and the beater bar head, you will see a black tab. Simply slide a thin, flat-head screwdriver down and magically the machine will release. NOW: once it\'s released, simply examine the area where your screwdriver JUST slid down...see the dirt and gunk? DON\'T follow the MANY suggestions of adding lubricant "which only works for a short while" (by their own admission) WIPE AWAY THE DIRT AND GUNK and voila! YOU are now a "certified technician" and you didn\'t have to sit through any technical school to get there! You go girl!!!!!!!

Easiest way to attach spring to the back wheel base?
As long as the black piece still has the "nubs" on both sides at the turn in the "L" shape and the base isn't broke then this is going to be easy. There is a groove on the main unit the little wheel fits into that groove, the "nubs" fit into small holes on the swivel down piece, and the spring fits between the small side of the "L" shape and the bottom of the swivel down piece..
