if it started after you cleaned the filters, it is because when you smack the filter that is in the ball like they tell you to, it pushes the gasket in so air can sneak past it. take it back out and pull the rubber gasket away from the filter so there is about 1/16-1/8" away all the way around, then put it back in. it will seal it and stop.
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC25's brush bar is engineered to shut off for protection if something jams it. Once you've checked the cleaner head for any obstructions, and removed any threads or hair from around the brush bar, you should be able to reset your machine as shown in the video guide:
Please note, the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright. Make sure you recline your DC25 into the normal vacuuming position before testing it.
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you do need further help, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
Edited text to show model number in correct form and for clarity. Conjugated verbs and fixed punctuation. Moved Category from 'Miscellaneous' to Dyson DC25.
It seems to be a known issue. The fix for 'won't recline' will be the same for reclined and won't come upright.
Dyson quality has gone to pot since they moved production to the Philippines.

I would try the filter first. The filter on your unit should be replaced at least once a year, more often if it gets used a lot or in a very dusty or dirty environment. If the filter is clogged air cannot pass through it just as if you laid a piece of plastic over it which can cause it to blow off.
This is a guess but I have experienced it on other vacuum cleaners I have owned.
Check the hose that connects the at the base for breaks. Not just the easy to disconnect one connected to the wand, the one that goes into the head, if you are sure there are no blocks I can only imagine this being a possibility
dyson does offer a 5 year warranty if you have not past this age it might be worth sending out.
Stinks having issues with such expensive devices.
I would suggest getting a new filter. In my experience washing this type of filter can clog the pores so air can't pass through. I prefer to blow them out with a compressor. I would replace them at least once per year.
Take the HEPA filter out of the ball. Run the machine without it and see if it quits. My guess is that it will. You can get some scissors and cut the rubber seal off the filter and re-install it and you squeal is gone.
Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.
First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.
While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
If your vacuum doesn't turn on, make sure that plug is fully inserted into a fully functional electronic outlet. If it still not turning on after verifying this, it could be that the power switch is malfuntioning. You may need to replace the power switch by opening up the handle of your vacuum. I suggest to refer to your manual on how to replace the power cord or contact Dyson for troubleshooting steps. 1-844-679-1647

It could be the upper switch, lower switch, belt or motor. The motor will not run if either switch or the motor is bad, if the belt is broken you can hear the motor turning.
Something is binding up not allowing it to pivot freely. It may be wear or something broken or stuck in there. The only way to determine what it is causing the problem is to analyze each part while moving the uandle back and forth. It could be multiple isssues and may require a qualified Dyson technician.
